Red Webbing

Number five - the halfway point in the literature portion of my Genre series. How exciting is that? Anyway. This used very little stock and a lot of painting.

The blood doesn't look as realistic as I would like but I have not really painted blood before so I'm happy with it. I am in love with the webs... first time ever of painting them. I'm good :P </vain>

2009-09-05 [Linderel]: This one gets my vampire story sense tingling...

2009-09-05 [Triola]: Constructive criticism: I love your manipulations, but you really need to stop using the brush you're using to draw hair with. It makes it look as if you've tried to kill a plastic wig with a pair of garden scissors >.>

2009-09-05 [Chimes]: Then write :P

I like the style that it brings though. :P I like how it looks, which is why I use it. :P

2009-09-05 [Chimes]: Think of it as stylised. :P I CANNOT do realistic looking hair... so I don't try, I decided to adopt my own little... mess of a style :P

2009-09-05 [Triola]: I still think you'd be better off with a single strand brush, the way you did the webs looks more like hair to me than the actual hair :P But of course, it's your picture :)

2009-09-06 [Chimes]: I'm going to move on to a single strand brush when I can do hair with it in a way I like. :P I practice using doodles... but I can't bring myself to do it on a manip until I like it. :P If you want, when I like it I can do another version of this one with realistic looking hair? :P

2009-09-06 [Triola]: Hmmm, are you friends with the smudge tool? Because if you do a small brush, high strenght smudge-job on the ends of the hair, you can easily create something that looks more like single strands, instead of chunks of hair, while still keeping the brush you're currently using as base :) I just quickly did this right now, hope you don't mind

See the difference?

2009-09-06 [Chimes]: I am friends with the smudge tool, yes
And no, I don't mine it's helpful :P Aha, yes I do. Thank you. :) I'ma try it on the next one... which has two people.

2009-09-06 [Triola]: Welcome :)
