Tekeonian law

The Tekeonian law was mostly compiled by regenians, some humans they trusted and a few humans opposing the fact that aliens were making up laws for them when they didn't even understand the human cultures. Of course the regenians made a point of the fact that the humans had managed to spoil their original planet and still hadn't defeated inequality and wars.
Thus were created the laws, but since Tekeonia is new and in some parts unexplored and unwatched, people have made their own places that have their own laws – even though the establishment of these places is illegal by interstellar standards.

This is an overview of the common laws needed by most common people. They were designed by the regenian law-making committee with the help of some humans.

Common rights and responsibilities
§ Free education, 6 years minimum (12 Earth years) and specialization for a profession at the least.
§ Free health care.
§ Taxes.
§ Privacy and personal property.
. Non-telepaths and weak telepaths have a right to receive electronic equipment or free training to block telepathy.
. Telepaths are required to learn to respect the privacy of others.
§ Free voting in matters directly concerning the voter.
§ Voting in matters that do not directly concern the voter, requires display of sufficient comprehension.
§ Registered partnership (marriage), adoption/conception (at displaying sufficient comprehension) and own body control (implants, transplants, surgery, abortion, sterilization, hormones).
§ Recycling.
§ Right to a job matching the education, or reeducation.
§ Official language: common Regenish. Every person is required to know common Regenish, which is the primary language. Children are required to study also human Finnish and ravaran Trageish. Other common languages include silencer writing, common Aiaeoish, human English, human German, human Japanese, ravaran Noirtionish, ravaran Retish, ravaran Yigenan and ravaran Kuilian.

Common restrictions
§ Causing harm to others or the environment.
§ Restrictions for minors: handling of most vehicles, voting in matters not directly concerning them, possession of certain materials or permits.
§ Possession of harmful materials (weapons, drugs in large quantities etc.) (permit needed).
§ No voting if sufficient comprehension not displayed.

Laws elsewhere

Warintoca is an illegally founded city in the warmer parts of Tekeonia. It was established by a group of humans who did not agree about anything with regenians at all. They created their own city with their own laws and rules.
To the civilized world, Warintoca is a very backwashed place. Its morals are medieval in the worse meaning of the word, scientific facts are largely ignored, women are oppressed and environment is uncared for.
§ To promote privacy, telepaths may not enter or live in the city. Therefore regenians and silencers aren't allowed there.
. Exception made if the parts of the brain that control telepathic function are made dysfunctional and the rest of the ability is blocked by drugs and electronic equipment.
§ Mutants and hybrids must be explicitly registered and have to accept treatment according to their abilities and defects. Anything that could pose a threat to normal humanity will be controlled somehow.
§ Only two sexes and genders are recognized and they will be the same. Even species that don't have any kind of sex or gender division are supposed to choose a sex and live as that sex. They're surgeried if possible, and if not, at the least made infertile.
§ Marriage, copulation and adoption is only available for people of normal sex and sexual preference (laws by heteronormativity).
§ As a theocracy (Christian Catholic), the ruler of Warintoca is the pope.
§ Firearms and weapons may be purchased by anyone.
§ Women may not have religious professions (except for teaching religion).
§ Fertility treatment is prohibited (because messing around with zygotes (potential children) is immoral). For the same reason, abortion and stem cell research is prohibited. Only in the case of extrauterine pregnancy abortion may be performed.
§ Reproduction is encouraged by giving parents pay for having and taking care of children. Pay increases according to number of children. Children must be registered to receive payment.


Typietra is a small city founded for telepaths only. Non-telepaths are allowed there, but they are not protected by the law of privacy.
§ Accidental or casual telepathic scanning is not punishable. People have to take care of their mental privacy themselves. Telepathic training is free for telepaths, equipment and training for non-telepaths must be purchased privately.
. If the truthfulness of a statement is doubted, target must subject to at least two telepathic scans for confirmation.


Terrala is a city for non-telepaths where they can walk freely without having any equipment or telepathic training. Telepaths aren't turned away at the gates nor are they legally discriminated, but they are slightly shunned.
§ To protect the privacy of those who are not telepaths, telepaths are required to register.
. They must wear equipment or take drugs that block their telepathic abilities.
. They may only live in special houses that are telepathy-protected if they want to be without the equipment or drugs.


Intercity (English) is a town founded originally by ravaran neuters and epicines and a few human and ravaran intersexuals. Later some aiaeoan, tijinnoan and even some regenians and silencers who couldn't take the heteronormativity of the other species joined in. In Intercity any reference to male or female (or any sort of sex- or gender-based division) is very much frowned upon, except when used with necessity (like with respect to medical facts and reproduction in species that have different sexes). It has also been a paradise and safe haven for those very few kaopilutan intersexuals who weren't killed at birth or teenage. Languages that naturally use sex or gender division are not used, so mostly common Regenish is used as well as silencer writing.


Lontoo, Turku, Pariisi, Pietari, Lima, Montevideo, Khartum, Hongkong (Finnish) are human cities where law is not that strictly upheld. Mostly this means that weapons and drugs can be quite freely purchased and heteronormativity is expected. However, they have varying policies about telepaths: some welcome them (mostly when the people in charge are telepathic or have trusted telepaths protecting themselves) while some shoot them on sight. Also, the quality of public education and health care is not very good because private schooling is arranged for those who have money.
Although the names of the cities are in Finnish (they're named after existing cities on Earth), the main languages in these cities are mostly English, Chinese, French and Spanish.


Underwater aiaeoan cities are obviously mostly out of reach for other species. Restriction laws for telepaths apply. Biggest city at the moment is Yieoaei.


Ravaran cities are where the strange ravaran morals and codes are upheld. Restriction laws for telepaths usually apply. Biggest city is Argenrta.


Silencer communities are mostly huge computer and research centers high up in the mountains where the air is thin and weather cold. Law of mental privacy for non-telepaths does not usually apply. Biggest center is Valani.
