Peach Lake
Peach Lake is on the north end of town, very close to the X-Mansion in consideration, no more than a mile's walk away. This lake, large as it is, has a shore that is littered with rocks and soil, as well as some reeds and algae in the shallower parts but otherwise is quite pleasant and clean. Though shaped relatively in an oval, there are several areas where trees dominate the shores, along with shrubbery, saplings, and low hanging branches that touch the water's placid surface. In short, the place is quite clearly a natural lake with turtles, snakes, Canadian geese, ducks, all assorted types of fish and even an eel or two. Still, this does not dissuade any swimmers and the lake is large, boasting room for recreational boats, inner tubing, swimming, and other aquatic activities. However, seeing as how its October, the activities are starting to dwindle as the months grow colder.

Michael walked to the shore of the lake and began to stretch his legs. He did a few jumping jacks and various other exercises to warm up. He knelt down on the ground and said a small prayer before beginning to jog around the lake.
Laurel came up to the lake from the grounds happily watching the water sway and crash on shore. Being oblivious as always didn't see Michael when she checked to see if anyone was there. She stripped off her sweatshirt then she stretched as she waded into the water. Checking one last time if anyone was there before she dived in, only to resurface a few feet away, she was trying to practice shifting gills. She happily swam around as if she belonged in the water, every once in a while she would disappear for a while only to come up sputtering and purple.
Michael came back around from his jog after deciding he had jogged far enough down the lake, and saw Laurel dived into the lake. It was far too cold to really swim and be comfortable, but he watched for a few moments and waited to see what she was going to do. As she came back up sputtering he stopped by the water's edge and smiled. "What is that you're trying to do?"
"What? Oh um just trying to work on my powers."
Laurel ducked back under before coming up closer to shore and walked out. The sides of her neck are red and rashy from trying to shift gills. She ringed out her shirt and hair. "I still can't really concentrate on the little things." She and Michael had similar powers so it felt normal discussing it with him.
"Well, I can't help you on that,"
Michael said with a chuckle. "I only have the one form that I can shift to." He stepped back a bit in order to make sure that Laurel had enough room to dry herself. "Aren't you cold?"
Laurel gave up on trying to ring out her shirt and shook her hair kind of like a dog. "Yeah kinda, but I'm fine, don't worry about it." she waved Michael off not wanting any of that knight in shining armor crud boys tried to pull, If she needed any saving she was intent on doing it her self. She tugged on the black Sugarland sweatshirt and raked her fingers through her hair. "What are you going to be for Halloween, Big Bear?" she slipped on her flip-flops, using her nickname for the big hairy lug of a boy.
Michael smiled at the girl as he turned away and started slowly walking towards the mansion once more. "A dressed down samurai, you?"
Laurel flip-flopped along next to Michael, If one had looked at the two it would look a bit like Mutt and Jeff, since Laurel was so short compared to Michael. She thought for a moment as they walked, "That's cool, but you don't look very Japanese..." she laughed and went silent as she thought again. She had a couple ideas but she hadn't picked one. "Um, I think I'll be Dorothy."
Without warning,
Addy appeared in a cloud of smoke not far from where Laurel and Michael were talking. She sat down on the ground, staring into the water, ignoring the other two. Her crutches landed next to her a moment later, crashing to the ground, but she ignored them, continuing to stare into space.
A loud boom came from the direction of the mansion.
"Hey Addy,"
Laurel waved to the blue girl as she poofed in. She looked like she needed some space though. She turned back to Michael when the ground shook with a boom. "Wha...? What was that?" she looked around confused. Finally determining it probably came from the grounds She turned to Michael again,"I'm going to check it out, see ya later!" she smiled and waved before sprinting away to
X-Men Grounds.
"I don't have to be Japanese to be a samurai,"
Michaelsaid quickly. "And Dorothy sounds...cute.
" He wasn't sure what to think of anything lately. The past few weeks had been, strange at best. He smelled Addy's teleportation cloud and quickly covered his nose. He knew who it was without having to look. "Hello Addy," he said moments before the explosion. When he heard it and saw Laurel dash off to the X-Men Grounds he followed quickly behind her.
Addy waved at the pair as they left. She continued staring into the lake, ignoring the sound from the mansion. If someone needed her, they would come get her. As it was, she was having a lousy morning, much like every other morning since the attack and she had been left in the stupid cast. A good few minutes of brooding left Addy feeling no better than she had. She frowned, grabbed up her crutches, and BAMFed back to where she had left Endelyn, not really expecting her to still be in the X-Men Kitchen.
You may go back the way you have come, following the dirt path back to the X-Men Grounds, X-Men Grounds Woods, or you could walk around the lake and find yourself in X-Men RP Salem Center Township.
