Elysium Park
Valerie walked slowly through the park, her long black skirt making little noise as she headed home from work. She was in no hurry to get back to the apartment, it was poker night so Tim would have his buddies there
Alexandra had just gotten off from a shift at Sophie's and was headed hommwhen she saw Valerie walking slowly through the park. She had tried to call her once but her mother picked up and told her she was at work. Alex woundered if Val had any plans for the night? She decided to just go ask... maybe the could just go hang out... she walked up behind Val and then asked from about ten feet away. "Hey Stranger." She had that same sweet smile she always walked around with in, and she wore her leather jacket over ripped jeans and black tank top.
Val looked around, a bit startled, then smiled shyly, "Oh, hey. Alex, right?" She asked, she wasn't the best with names but the girl had been cool. She stopped to wait for the redhead to catch up, adjusting her lacy gloves
"It is indeed!" Alex said with a smile and cought up to Val. "So what do you have planned for tonight?" She asked hopping she was free. They might even be able to go see a movie or if Val was tired they could go to Alex's apartment and watch, The Expance, or some other show on amazon video or Netflix. She honestly just didn't want another night alone at home.
Val shrugged, "I was just on my way home, I don't have any plans." She admitted, "Why?" If Alex wanted to hang out...well, it would give her an excuse not to go home, and she liked Alex
"I was gonna order a pizza and watch Netflix... want to come by?" Alex offered. She really hopped that was not strange to Val. "We could also talk about getting you a tattoo on that pretty skin you have." Alex like Val a lot. She was easy to talk to and didn't look at her funny when she talked about tattoos.
Val smiled that shy smile again, "Umm...that might be nice. I need to let my mom know though...do you have a phone I could borrow?" She hated to have to borrow a phone, but her mom was too proud to get one of those government phones when they had the house phone and they could get a hold of each other at work.
Alex smiled and offered her phone to Val with a smile. "You're under Val." Her smile grew a bit more and she stared at Val so happy she had made a friend. It was kinda hard to find someone who didn't judge her just because she had tattoos, and was trying to become an artist in the local parlor.
"Thanks." Valerie offered her a small smile before simply dialing the number, it was faster than navigating the contacts on a strange phone. She waited a moment before holding a short conversation with her mother, who seemed to be surprised to hear her daughter was staying out with a friend. Val returned to Alex, smiling a little more easily, "I just have to be home by ten or call and let her know if I'm staying later." She said.
"Cool!" Alex replied with a huge excited smile. "So do you want to just walk and get the pizza on the way? Or go to my place and order it?" Alex kinda wanted to walk and talk a bit more.
"No sense in paying a delivery fee if we can get it our selves." Val pointed out. She liked walking, it gave her a chance to think
"I agree..." Alex said to Val with a small smile on her face. Walking with Val toward the local pizza place. "What is your Favorite show?" Alex asked hopping they might enjoy the same kinda shows.
Val shrugged, "I don't watch much tv." She admitted, "What do you recommend?"
"Maybe The Expance? It's a really good scyfy series." Alex said with a smile. "Unless you don't like scyfy. Then we could watch game of thrones. Witch is a fantacy series." She hopped that Val was at lest a but nerdy- it would make tonight a lot more fun.
"I've heard a lot about Game of Thrones, I've read the first few books too..." She admitted, "But I've never heard of The Expanse, what's it about?" She asked
"Two hundred years into the future the human race has colonized the solar system. Problem is humanity is far from cooperation. The U.N. controls earth, Mars has become a military state, the people of the asteroid belt spend there hole lives mining and shipping Raw ore and water back to earth and mars but have there rights trampled on by the U.N. and earth who just delay water and oxygen shipments if they refuse to comply with anything they are told to do- or try to take there rights. It's amazing..." Alex explained the show like a child describing there favorite toy. "Does that sound cool?"
"It definitely sounds interesting." Val agreed, "I'd be willing to give it a try."
"Cool!" Alex told Val wondering if she had remembered to clean her apartment. She knew she had done her laundry...
