"Are you thinking about getting a pet?"

          If you're thinking about getting a pet,
          It's a decision you don't want to regret.
          So before you adopt or you buy,
          You have to know that you must try
          To be as informed as you can get!
          -----
          They live many years, most of them do
          So if your thinking of seeing them through
          Make sure you know before you buy
          For they deserve more than just a 'try'.
          And left somewhere abandoned and blue.
          -----
          You must be a responsible person
          To better their life, not to worsen.
          There's more involved in 'good pet care'
          Than giving some food here and there.
          When sick and injured, they'll need some nursin'.
          -----
          They require the touch of you
          As well, they need your voice some, too.
          Not just shoved in a world outside
          Even with shelter they need applied
          Assurance, security, and love from you!
          -----
          If you have little time to spare
          To give them love and tender care
          Then I suggest what you might do
          Get a pet that's 'stuffed' for you
          Along the lines of a teddy bear!

"Tips on Good Pet Care!"

          On these days when it is hot
          And you are inside cool
          Remember me and my needs
          And remember the golden rule!
          Do onto others as you would
          So have done onto you.
          Take care of me the way you should.
          Fresh water and shade, the least you can do!

"Grooming Your Pet!"

             - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
             Do not overbathe your pet to take away the soils,
             For this dries the skin by removing all the oils.
             Brushing the fur of your pet
             Is the best that you can do.
             This activates the oil glands
             And so shines the coat anew.
             With brushing you must start where the hairs begin.
             Separate the fur in sections way down at the skin.
             The motion should be from the root
             Towards the end of every hair.
             When you've done the brushing well,
             You're on to combing care!
             Use the same method as you did in the brushing.
             A proper job takes time with no room for any rushing.
             The comb is used to find small tangles
             That the brush has often missed.
             You don't want even the smallest
             Tangles to be left, dismissed.
             To give your task a touch of finalty and sheen
             Rub the coat down with a cloth that's soft and clean!
             These guidelines that I have given here
             Are referring to a long haired pet.
             If you have a short haired one, though,
             They too need brushing, don't forget!

             There wouldn't be so many
              Lonely, homeless pets,
             If owners were [ responsible ]
              And would see their vets.
             - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
             Neutering and spaying
              Is so [ little ] a cost
             For saving the lives of [ MILLIONS ]
              That are yearly lost!!!!
             - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
             If YOU, as an owner,
              Fail to neuter or spay,
             [ YOU contribute DEATH ]
              To THOUSANDS everyday!!
             - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
             There aren't enough "good" homes
              For all that's here right now,
             By advocating more,
              Destruction [ YOU ALLOW ]!!!!!
             - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
             NO matter your excuse,
              NO matter what your reason,
             The bottom line's the same,
              NO matter what the season!!
             - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
             You say you "love" animals?
              You say you "love" your pets?
             THEN wake up and [ PROOVE IT! ]
              Take them to their vets!
             - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
             Spay and / or neuter
              With protection from disease.
             Keep them properly groomed
              And free from ticks and fleas.
             - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
             If you love your pets,
              Give responsible Love 'n' Care.
             Be an ultimate benefit
              For all pets --[ EVERYWHERE!!! ]
             - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
             Pets don't judge or question
              Or put us to a test.
             They give loyalty and devotion.
              They deserve our ROYAL best!!!!!
