What the heck is all this stuff, [xido]?!

The Elftown Creature Marathon (or ECM) was created by the Elftown Council and Assembly by the guidance of [Hedda] to further stimulate interest and independently coordinated creativity in the creatures of The Creature List. The ECM is the first Contest Marathon of Elftown, which means that sessions of it will continue until every creature has a definitive set of informational and creative wikipages.

The RP Council and Elftown Clans were begun by [xido] during an inspired period where creating creature pages and networked wikipage formats for various projects, and are fully sponsored and supported by the Wiki Fiction Roleplay, Elftown's first Role-Playing Games Guild, and now a fully funtional Creative Writing Guild after sufficient conceptual outlines from the-roleplay-initiative, also written by [xido].

Why do write all these things, [xido]? Are you going to take all the credit for the Elftown Clans, or is this an official Elftown feature?

I see a need for stimulating writing and Elftown user activities. I would love to see the Clans idea spread out and be fully integrated into the user-interface (house presentation), instead of the currently limited list of Fantasy Race(s): Duck, Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, Human, or Orc. Instead, these and all other Creature_List Creature Pages would be utilized as both informational pages and links that would be featured below your Elftown Clan(s) of choice, linking users to all included pages about the creatures, their Clans, and other members who love those fantasy race(s) too! It is really quite a new idea, and not one that has been officially designated as feasible or worthwhile by Hedda or the Council. Still, [xido] keeps his fingers crossed, and hopes that the current interest and ease of change would be beneficial and neat for usage by ET members. It would also create an entirely new method of networking and creative friend-making for the whole Elftown Community... At least in my opinion.

Why is this so separatist? Can't we all just get along?!

That's the whole point. Roleplaying is a fun way of interacting, and creative writing in general is a great pasttime on Elftown, as most any veteran member can tell you from experience. New roleplays and groups are created everyday, and what better way to network than with the fantasy creatures we all know and love.

So, is this political, fun, or what?

Both, and whatever else everyone makes of it. It's just a cool idea. Roll with it.

If you still don't get it, at least you know who to message about it...  This guy ---------> []

2007-01-25 [xido]: I am sad that no one is commenting. I thought for sure I would get some Elftowners fired up over this one.

I will have to get in touch with Take Elftown Back, it seems. ;)

2007-01-25 [Torr-maat]: You know me will, I am a purist. I think Vampires are nothing more than amusing villians for a story made for people specializing in killing them. Besides what are you complaining about...at least your favorite was listed, well my second favorite is listed

2007-01-26 [Lothuriel]: Wow...

2007-01-26 [xido]: To [Torr-maat]:
I tried to get them to list minotaurs, but they cut the list down quite a lot since then.

Technically, I think Illithid and Sandstorm races are my favorite, but neither were they included (D&D copyright)...

Thanks, [Lothuriel]!

2007-01-26 [The Scarlet Pumpernickle]: lol... I have too much of a life to get riled up over this one. Sorry Xido. :P But Dragons were second... so I'm happy anyways. :P

2007-01-28 [Kim_Lundin]: Heheh, I just couldn't vote on that poll, my fantasy favorite changes just as often as my favorite color (wich changes more frequently than the average person change underwear).

2007-01-28 [xido]: It's not really to be political... At lest not yet. Maybe just for a fun new roleplay area idea. That way, we still get to be cool creatures, but make something fun in Elftown's RPG community zone. ;)

I am going to make a dragon council member just for this... :P

2007-02-01 [Kim_Lundin]: Urge to create dwarven character... rising.

2007-02-01 [xido]: Feel free, and then definitely feel welcome to work on the Dwarf clan... I am only working on the Dragons and Endangered Species. All others will be created and moderated by voluntary members. That way, it is a truly politically-moderate group. All races should be run by members of those races. Dragons are my dig, so that is where I will be working on stuff.

Glad to know that it stirred an interest. Feel welcome to post anything you would like, and see Draconic Clan for more info and ideas on how to make and run a clan page (though you can do it any way you wish, so long as it is representative of that race.

Dwarves are fun, but I am not good enough at RPing as one to run a group for them. However, I would love to see ET have a real fantasy group of representatives to work in the best interest of the fantasy races.

2007-02-02 [xido]: Hang on, guys, this is under construction and renovation. I want it to have a purpose now. I have decided it would be more beneficial this way.

Be patient with me.

2007-02-02 [Kim_Lundin]: I've begun workin on the Dwarfin Clans. Nothing grand yet, but it's a start.

2007-02-11 [Kim_Lundin]: Ehum... oka-ay? No offence, but I don't think I'll try those links.

2007-02-17 [Veltzeh]: What does GOP mean?

2007-02-17 [Kim_Lundin]: "Grand Old Party"

2007-02-20 [Kedakai]: I just discovered this today and I have to say that at first glance I'm highly interested in finding out more about it. You'll probably hear more from me later.

2007-02-20 [xido]: Veltzeh: What does GOP mean?
Kim_Lundin: "Grand Old Party"

That's right. It typically is used as referring to the Republican Party in America, but I always saw it as having more of an insinuation about being the majority, and with recent media surrounding the Rep. Party, I think the two are nearly synonymous with one another.

GOP and MGP describe the two Houses, the "Grand Old Party" - Majority, and "Minorities Groups Party".

Glad to have you around, Kedakai, and feel welcome to be involved. Hit me back anytime. ;)
