Compass
Conservatory
Surrounded by a dome of glass panels lies the conservatory with its lush, botanical garden. All the various plants, bushes, and trees are neatly labeled with hand-written plaques and the room is filled with the gentle lull of rustling leaves and the ever present hum of a generator somewhere in the far back. The foliage is so thick that it makes it nearly impossible to see past the next curve of the narrow stone path that winds through the room entirely.
Deep in the room, two glass containers begin to drain the breathable liquid inside and pump adrenaline into the IV's attached to the occupants inside each.
He shook his head and coughed several times, and pressed his palms against the glass of the container trying to get out.
Marcus didn’t remember how he got in here or much else before the rushing sound of the fluid in this, well whatever this was. With a great deal more effort he pushed and managed to pop the door of the capsule open and dropped out onto his knees into a much different place. “Uhm, Hello? Anybody or anything around? Long as you aren’t some serial killer or whatever.” He called out surveying the room. Glancing back he took note of the other capsule and approached carefully, running around in his skivvies and not knowing who or what was next door was risky behavior.
Silera had been lost in her dreams, flying high in a stormy sky until her freedom was interrupted by the sound of a human voice. Slowly her dreams faded as the sounds of liquid gushing filtered through and she took a sudden breath. Her eyes opened wide and she realized she was confined, not only that but she was starving. She braced herself against the glass and pushed until it popped open and she was able to step out. The adrenaline was pumping through her, making her more on edge than normal as she glanced around before settling her gaze on the man in front of her. "Where are we?" She demanded and studied him intently.
A quick assessment of the woman who emerged from the other capsule made him believe she didn't have an axe or anything and he relaxed just a little. Looking around at the place where they found themselves he made a couple guesses, "We've been hatched from pods in an alien garden or in mad scientist's garden. Do you remember anything before you woke up?"
Marcus asked inspecting the plants and the glass panels of the conservatory. No guards or technicians around, so maybe this wasn't scheduled to be happening and therefore they should be concerned and stick together. "Perhaps we should find a way out and some clothes and maybe some answers along the way, I'm Marcus and you are?" he asked giving her a once over again.
Hmmmm...
Silera was far from impressed with Marcus's guesses, however, she decided to remain pleasant, at least for now. "No, I do not." She answered and realized it was true. She couldn't quite remember anything beyond the dreams she'd been having right before waking, she reached up to run her hands through her hair and froze when her fingers brushed up against something that felt like feathers. She lightly tugged at the feathers that seemed to cover the back of her neck, she wasn't sure if this was normal... In fact she was certain it wasn't. Her companion's question caught her attention and she glanced around at the foliage and the path that curved around the corner. "Yes... Clothes. And food." She said briskly as she took a few steps down the path. She felt so hungry and empty that it felt like her body was eating itself and she absently wondered if any of these plants were edible.
After a lengthy look around the area
Marcus figured the only way out was the door to the east, but was less than willing to take a walk outside without some way to defend themselves. "See anything we could use as a weapon or maybe even anything saying where we are?" he looked over his shoulder at her. The whole time he was trying to remember anything before waking up, any memory that might bring something back even the name of where he grew up. "I don't think the door is locked so getting out should be simple, are you ready?" if she had any complaints or questions now was the time. Later there might be screaming and running, and less time to think about this situation or ask any question.
Silera nodded absently as she tore a leaf from one of the plants and nibbled experimentally
. She was far from scared or even nervous considering she was much more focused in ridding herself of this hunger that threatened to consume her. "Of course, I am ready." She snapped a tad irritably in response to his question. She wasn't a patient person to begin with and she felt the need to move, her head moved in small jerky motions as she looked around the room although what she was looking for was unknown to her.
Marcus nodded and opened the door leading out to Lab 218: D-Block.
Silera grabbed another leaf, munching on it as she stepped after him in to Lab 218: D-Block
