Make an Elftown ad

You can select one of the Elftown logos and then write a link on any HTML-page like this:

   <a href="http://elftown.eu">
      <img src="http://elftown.eu/logo/Elftown4.gif"
        alt="Elftown - The fantasy and sci-fi community"></a>

To get the image URL (For example http://elftown.eu/logo/Elftown4.gif) right click on the image you want to use on Elftown logos and select "copy image location" (Firefox).

Make a more personal ad

As Elftown is about the people, you can also make an Elftown ad with an Elftowner randomly selected:

   <IFRAME SRC="http://elftown.eu/meetme.html" WIDTH=112 HEIGHT=150></IFRAME>

If you want a link to your own house, then write:
   <IFRAME SRC="http://elftown.eu/meetme.html?membernr=1" WIDTH=112 HEIGHT=150></IFRAME>

(where 1 should be replaced with your member number)

And it will look something like:
Meet me on Elftown
<img:img/photo/1_1175415489.jpg?xy=100>

(The image will be a link to [Hedda]'s house in this case.)

Try it: <URL:http://elftown.eu/meetme.html> or <URL:http://elftown.eu/meetme.html?membernr=1>

2008-11-06 [Dark Side of the Moon]: Is this new feature available for the other sites as well? (Elf12, Cathug, etc.)

2008-11-07 [Hedda]: Yes, it should be. It's untested though.

2008-11-07 [Dark Side of the Moon]: I just tried it for Elf12 and it works fine. The logo looks a little small amid all the graphics, but it's there. Maybe I'll work on making a larger one. :^)

2008-11-07 [Linn Scarlett]: Oh this is a very interesting add! Especially because it generates a random person

2008-11-07 [Hedda]: [Dark Side of the Moon]: Nice!

Does this work there too:

<IFRAME SRC="http://elftown.eu/meetme.html?membernr=160592" WIDTH=112 HEIGHT=150></IFRAME>

?

2008-11-07 [Dark Side of the Moon]: I haven't tried that one yet. I'm about ready to go home for the day so I'll try again next week. (no internet at home really bums me out...)

2008-11-08 [Chimes]: :P This may be finding its way onto my website... but where to put it...

I find myself wondering... is this code customizable(sp?)? XD

2008-11-08 [Hedda]: What do you want to customize? The iframe-code isn't possible to change except for the member number, as far as I can think of.

2008-11-08 [Chimes]: I was just pondering whether I could make it look prettier, is all. But I may be able to do that with the CSS on my site.

2008-11-08 [Dark Side of the Moon]: okay, that <IFRAME> tag isn't working on MySpace. It is, however, working well on DittyTalk.

I'm not sure why when I copy and paste <IFRAME SRC="http://elftown.eu/meetme.html?membernr=160592" WIDTH=112 HEIGHT=150> to MySpace it converts it to <iframe SRC="http://elftown.eu/meetme.html?membernr=160592" WIDTH=112 HEIGHT=150>.. (looks just like that) I tried editing this but it keeps going back after I make the changes to my profile.

2008-11-08 [Chimes]: You're not allowed iframes in myspace... I think that may be why. I wanted to be cheeky and make an iframe layout. XD It wouldn't let me.

2008-11-08 [Dark Side of the Moon]: I knew there was some reason why I hated that place...<img:44166_1164145262.gif>

2008-11-08 [Chimes]: You may be able to use javascript... if you can do this with it.

I don't think they allow you to use iframes because you're only supposed to have one page. XD iframes, when used normally (at least when I've used them), make it seem like you have many pages... at least on myspace they do... and they don't like it XD I personally have two. XD

2008-11-09 [Hedda]: Well, there isn't really a reason to use an iframe if you just want to use your house-link. Then you can just as well make a normal "a href"-link with an image and text.

2008-11-09 [Chimes]: Or you could even make a funky graphic and have an 'a href' image link. :]

2008-11-10 [Dark Side of the Moon]: That's a good idea. Think I'll try the <A HREF> tag with some kind of image to make the link on MySpace. Thanks [Hedda] and [Chimes]. *dumps chocolate chip cookies on both*

2008-11-19 [Linn Scarlett]: oh man, you guys lost me soooooo much!

2008-11-19 [Chimes]: Why so?

2008-11-24 [Linn Scarlett]: its late, I had a beer, and I am trying to undestand all this >.>

2008-11-24 [Chimes]: Ah. XD Understandable, then.

2008-12-11 [Duke Devlin]: This, is rather spiffy.
