Use Your Art, and Change Things

If you look back in time, you will see that great art has always been there, weather it be for political protest like the late 1960’s and early ‘70’s, or in celebration of life like the renascence. But now, we are falling from those high points. I keep looking around Elftown, and I see so many talented people that seem to have the same issue that I have… getting hung up on only what is right there in front of them. I believe that we need to change that, so I have created this wiki. It’s the place to post your inspirations, or links to your work. It is my hope that if enough people get here, then we can begin to see some real talent, when people begin to collaborate on some major projects. But all I can do is start this and hope some of you begin to post your work. Start with something you want help with, or that you are proud of, and post it, tell us why your proud of it, or what your looking for. I hope someone is brave enough to take the next step, only time will tell though!
And if you Just want to make fun of people, go to Bob's Diner, and have at it!

Easterling Photo Album - The Mysterious Building
I think that inspiration often comes when you're not expecting it. At least that was the case for me, when I did this experience, which resulted in these photos. On my trip to China, autumn 2008, we visited a tourist town outside Kun Ming called Dali and there were these Buddhist buildings called the Three Pagodas. I thought these old towers were amazing and completely breathtaking, and I was inspired to take a lot of pictures. I think it could be inspiration for both artists, photographers and writers, so that's why I'll post this link here! Enjoy!

a fairy tale I wrote back in high school. I believe it's my best work. My insperation was a mix of lesser known classic fairy tales, and historical places and people. I am proud of it that it encorporates nearly everything I have an interest in, from pacifism, romance, fantasy, history and religion. My concern is that the reader may not enjoy it if they do not also hold those interests. I also feel that some readers may take it as a religiour or pacifistic story trying to make a point, but I really only added those to make the story interesting and give the characters more depth.

I have always loved manga and anime and have been drawing it for ages, but I only recently started to really improve. I am actually branching away from the works on the wiki page now and more into the realm of semirealistic fan art, which can be seen on the dA page. Any tips you may have about semirealism are much appreciated, as well as manga tips!! ^^

I'm not 100% sure what makes me do art, but, if I had to guess at inspiration, I would say anything fleeting, overlooked, unusual or beautiful. Including (but not limited to!) Music, autumn, science, other people, abandoned places, and other peoples work of any sort (writing, pictures, photography, blah blah blaah.) Criticism? Whatever you want to give, I'll take. Just be nice about it! :]
