How to put an image in your description or on a wiki

<img:http://elftown.eu/stuff/2237_wiki_help_9y7vcgcflr5.jpg>

This is a guide to instruct you how to add an image from another website to your wiki or house description. Before you add any image to Elftown, please be sure you are familiar with the Uploading Art Rules.

1. Right-click on the image.
2. Go to ''properties'' or "View Image Info"
3. Copy the URL. (The thing that starts with: http:)
4. Paste the URL inside an image-tag: <img:the URL>
Now it should look like <img:http://elftown.eu/img/drawing/01112_65758.gif>
Note: You can make it shorter if the image is on Elftown, by removing http://elftown.eu/ from the URL (As it's still a working URI).
5. Save the changes as usual.

You can also use this method to add images to messages, diaries, and forums. It does work in wiki comments, but remember that many people don't like huge images in wiki comments, so it's a good idea to resize it by putting f.e. 100 between <img and :URL> (Like <img100:URL> It will be clickable and link to the bigger image).

You can resize the images, rotate them, put them to the right or left of the text and make them links to wiki-pages.
Read all about it on <URL:pseudo_html.html> or pseudo HTML.

2005-10-31 [ArchangelGabriel]: Does the full stop still work if your using the numbes to change the size?

2005-10-31 [Zab]: full stop? What do you mean?

2005-10-31 [ArchangelGabriel]: Full stop, that dot that you use...

2005-10-31 [Zab]: ah, ok. *lol* I think so.. yes, it have worked for me:)

2005-10-31 [ArchangelGabriel]: Cool, thanks for checking.

2005-10-31 [Zab]: ^__^ No problem. :)

2005-11-03 [*becca*]: How do I put a picture on my description from off my pictures on my computer?

2005-11-03 [*becca*]: I tried the stuff it says above but it didn't work

2005-11-03 [Zab]: Is the image uploaded to internet/elftown? Sometimes photobucket or deviant art don't work. :)

2005-11-14 [Paz]: Photobucket and deviant art work for a couple times. Usually photobucket images turn into broken links after a short while. So take [Zab]'s advice and upload them to ET ;)

2005-11-14 [Zab]: Ok, so..they usually work for a while? I don't know much about it, don't use it :P

2005-11-14 [ArchangelGabriel]: Photbucket is fine so long as you don't put up too many pictures

2005-11-14 [Zab]: oh..ok, thanks^^

2005-11-14 [ArchangelGabriel]: And rember the Uploading Art Rules

2005-11-14 [Zab]: hm..(well, I know them ;) but I guess I better put a link to them up here..

2005-11-21 [I LoVe CoUnTrY BoYz]: thanks`

2005-11-21 [Zab]: you're welcome :) .. thanks for what? Oo

2005-12-09 [Urmando The Elfling]: Is it also possible to put 2 images next 2 eachother, 2 save vertical space?

2005-12-09 [Zab]: yes, but then use an image tag (the <img:> thingie) for each image, and just write them next to eachother. :)

2005-12-09 [Sunrose]: Yes, but not if they are too big. You'd have to resize them into thumbnails first to a size that makes them fit next to each other. See pseudo html#Resizing images :)

2005-12-09 [Zab]: true...Oo why did I forgét to say that?
