[Talos Cyrion]

<img500*0:http://elftown.eu/stuff/Aviators.jpg>

Ladies and gentlemen of Elftown, I bring you an enthusiastic text role-player and table top gamer: [Talos Cyrion]!

What is your name?

Anthony Thomas

Is there a story behind your username?

The story behind my username? It started when i was dating my ex, it at first meant "Shadow lord" after a character i created for Warhammer 40k. I changed it to my current username and it is actually two names. Talos meaning night haunter, and Cyrion which can mean either resolute, or defiant one. At the time i changed it to sort of distance myself from the old name, that and i prefer the night over day. It fits well with most of the rp characters, and like most anything i write there's alot more to it than just the surface name.

What do you do most on Elftown?

Role play when they are active, and write. I've worked on a couple stories, my trouble is just finishing them (think at last count i think i had six in the works)

What type of role-plays do you prefer?

Preferably fantasy, but that's only because (at least from what I've seen) they tend to be more diverse. See the same thing, but it's not to the point where it gets bland.

Do you write anything independent of role-playing?

Yes, actually that would be all six of the unfinished stories that I've picked away, but mostly i write songs/poems (whatever you want to call them)

What inspires you to write poetry?

I like it real, that being said most of if not all of what I right is a metaphor for a life experience. I enjoy making it cryptic, but the downside of it is that I've had people read into it as I'm either not doing well or something else is wrong. It's not the case, I just decide to sit down an write, and inevitably a life experience comes up that I chose to write about from either myself or something that's been shared.

Do you have a message for all of Elftowners?

There is not always a rhyme or reason. Everything is not always a straight shot. Give people a chance, if there's one downer about ET it's that people always want things to be so black and white. Hey...guys and gals....this is a Fantasy community, by definition it's not always going to be black and white. Relax, have fun. There's so much to be read and done around here and it's fun. Take a look around, don't just pop in and out. There's people to be met, things to be written and if you have even the slightest creative/adventurous cell in you than there's Role plays to be had!

[Nekko fox]

<img500*0:http://elftown.eu/img/drawing/45072_1184860396.jpg>

Hello fellow Elftowners! Say "hello" to our latest featured member, [Nekko fox]!

So where did the "fox" bit come in?

Long story behind that one. Long ago I was dating a girl who said that those Japanese characters with the cat ears and tails were called 'nekos', though she never clarified the spelling. Well, about that time I was joining Elftown and I though to myself, "Hm, if I say Nekko, and add Fox, peopel will assume the persona I am creating is a humanoid with a fox tail and ears". It was not until I'd been on the site for over a year that someone pointed out that "Nekko" was a misspelling of "Neko", and neko in Japanese means Cat. Well, foxes are my favorite animal, so I kept that part in my name, but I changed it to say "neko". DOZENS of personal messages came pouring into my message box demanding to know why on earth I would alter my name from Nekko to Neko. So...I changed it back, and I couldn't have Nekko withou Fox... And so I have been 'Nekko Fox' for a while now.

A rather verbose wall of text, yes?

What do you like to do on Elftown?

Mostly, I write my stories, exchange fond words with friends, and generally make a nuisance of myself to others on wikis and through private messages.

Do you have any favourite members here?

[Ashoka Virlym] who helped me explore who I was, and [Mortified Penguin] because he is the most wonderful lunatic around. There are others, but the list would be too great to accommodate.

What's your favourite thing about the site?

Well, I've been on ET for a great long while. Not as long as some, but a while. I would say the diverse collection of misfits, dilettantes, and eccentrics make this place so intriguing, as well as being a good place to post creative works, both in the form of pictures and in the means of written prose. Couple that with the fact that you get places like Bob's Diner and it's never a dull moment.

Now's your chance! What's your message to all your fellow Et-ers?

There is nothing wrong with you, there is nothing wrong with your creativity, don't always follow the will of your parents and be sure to question everything. People have a bad self-image and, hokey though it may sound, being yourself is all you need. You don't need to be a size 1 supermodel or super buff hunk of meat for people to find you attractive, you don't need to recreate the Mona Lisa to be talented, you don't need to go to college, have a family, or a well paying job to be happy, and you don't need to swallow governmental propaganda to be a good citizen.

Be true to yourself and life has a way of making it all work out.

[Deus Ex Taco]

<img500*0:http://elftown.eu/stuff/Guardian..jpg?x=500&y=666>

Ladies and gentlemen of Elftown, I present to you one of our esteemed Master Poets and more uniquely named members: [Deus Ex Taco]!

What are your hobbies?

Writing, reading, watching movies, playing Xbox, Yu-Gi-Oh!

How did you end up on Elftown?

A friend told me about it in eighth grade. At first I joined mostly to keep in contact with him, but I eventually found that the creative avenues of ET catered to my liking.

What do you like most about fantasy: writing, images, reading etc.?

The best part about fantasy is that it can take you away from reality, if only just for a moment. When you write it, you put a part of yourself into every character that you give birth to, every little amount of scenery that you forge with your words. When you read it, you get lost trying to immerse yourself into that world, into the characters' minds, and through them, the mind of the writer themselves.

What inspires you to write poetry?

My main inspiration for writing poetry is just to enjoy writing it. I mostly just try to write something that sounds cool. However, there are those rare occasions when an event in my life influences me to write a poem about it. Those poems are the ones that turn out to be really special.

Is there a specific style of poetry you prefer?

I tend to lean on the side of free verse. I often times don't like being limited to a specific format. Sometimes, though, I will do it for the challenge or if I feel that a traditional form will help to strengthen the poem.

What is your message to all Elftowners?

This is more than just a website, it's an online community. There's just about everything under the sun for gaming nerds, poets, painters, and socializers alike here at Elftown. Take advantage of that. Explore. Even though you may never meet them in person, you can forge some great friendships here on Elftown.

[another brick in the wall]

<img500*0:stuff/aj/59412/Bookside.jpg>

Hello Elftown! It's that time of the month again - featured member time! This time around we're happy to introduce you to Eric, otherwise known as [another brick in the wall]. Let's learn a bit more about him, shall we?

First question. What's your name?
Eric. I like to tell everyone I was named after The Phantom of the Opera, rather than admiting my parents named me after Eric Clapton. :P

What are you currently up to? (School, work, play, etc.)
Currently failing college for the sake of Christ! lol jk, jk. I help actively in college ministry right now, and that along with my writings and personal studies, and activism in the community, I tend to not always leave time for school...

What do you like to do on Elftown?
I wish I could say I was as active as I was since 2004, but now I spend most of the time I get on hear just occassionally posting my poems and reading others', and randomly messaging people that happen to be from places I hold deep in my heart (like Romania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Lithuania, etc.,) with a million questions about their home, and reading [The Penguin Who Could Fly]'s diary like a devouted creep. :D

Do you have any suggestions on how to make it better?
To be quite honest, not really. I've enjoyed Elftown the way it is for years, and everything I fell in love with here has always been here. I'm just grateful [Hedda] and the others put this site together.

Now's your chance! What's your message to all your fellow Et-ers?
Live what your heart tells you is true, and stand for what you believe. You can't judge truth by the opinions of the masses, and you can't judge faith by it either. Faith and Truth go far greater together than the world likes to think. Jesus Christ and Socrates preached almost the same message. If you stand up for what you believe, trust me you'll find yourself just as offensive as either one.
