We suck at Life, but We’re Wicked Cool
.:Chapter 8:. Eva
The Whole Story?
Aaron, Chrissy, Nathan, Gabriel, and I stepped into the cozy Pub.
“Hey!” shouted a voice from the corner booth. I had recognized the voice and the red hair told me it was Patrick. He came towards us and my heart jumped into my throat. He was so hot that I couldn’t breathe.
“I saved a booth for us,” he told the group, but I missed it because I was lost in his green eyes. I started twirling my hair in a flirty way. The group started moving so I lurched forward when, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Aaron pass me and link her arm in Patrick’s! I just couldn’t believe it! I was so dumbfounded that I stopped in my tracks, mouth hanging open. Aaron and I had sworn never, never, never, ever to fall for the same guy. It ruins friendships, so we weren’t going to fall into that trap. It had always worker, at least, until now.
“Hey, Eva!” Gabriel’s voice brought me back to the present. “Are you going to sit down or just stand there looking confused?” he teased me. I felt my face getting warm and red.
“Um, I’m just going to use the restroom. I’ll be back, okay?” As I turned, I heard Gabriel’s “whatever” and the conversation resume.
As I came out of the bathroom I ran into someone as I rounded the corner into the pub. I literally ran into him. He dropped the flowers he was carrying. I immediately started apologizing and picked up the flowers.
“It’s quite alright, lass, no harm done,” he said as he tried to take the flowers from me. His voice sounded kind of familiar so I stood up quickly. The face I definitely knew. I had never met him, but I had seen some pictures. It was Conner!
“What are you doing here?” I shot at him as I shoved the flowers in his arms. “On a date with Lily are you?” I jeered at him.
“Hey, hey,” he defended. “Don’t start being a snot without knowing what I’m doing. As a matter of fact, I haven’t seen Lily since Aaron left, and I am here to see Aaron. Patrick said you guys invited him here.”
My mouth hung open for the second time tonight, but only for a second; then rage filled me. “How dare you want to see her?!? Even think of her after what you did! You’re despicable! I don’t even think you’re human!!” I grabbed the flowers that were in his hands and shoved them in his face. I didn’t care what happened so I stomped off, fuming. Fists clenched, I made my way back to the corner booth.
“Uh-oh,” Nate said.
Aaron slid out of the booth and grabbed my shoulders. “Eva,” she said softly and slowly. “What happened? Why are you so mad?”
I was shaking so hard, I stutter, “H-h-h-him.”
“Him who?” Aaron gasped and her eyes focused behind me.
“No,” I whispered as I spun around, regardless of Aaron’s hands on my shoulders.
“WOULD YOU JUST LEAVE ALREADY!?!” I screamed at Conner, who was speechless. I put my hands out to the side in a protective stance in front of Aaron. “You need to leave her alone. She didn’t come here for you!” I lunged to push him, but he grabbed my wrists, spun me around, and pushed me to my knees. He had my hands pinned to my sides, and I couldn’t get out of it. At this point the people around us were staring at the commotion. I glared at them, and most went back to what they were doing.
“Please, let me explain,” Conner pleaded.
“Why should we?” I spat at him.
Aaron shuffled her feet. “I think we should let him talk, Eva.”
Has she gone nuts!? Again, my mouth hung open. I was dumbfounded again. Conner let me go, so I got up and stood partly in front of Aaron. He was going to have to go through me to hurt her, physically or even emotionally. I glared at him as he started to talk.
“You left so fast, I didn’t know what to do. I thought you were in a relationship with that black haired guy. The way you were holding him made it look that way. I was there, but the electricity went off so my alarm wasn’t on. I overslept a little and missed the subway train. Then I saw you and him, and I didn’t know what to do. So I just went home. I wasn’t the one who wanted to hurt you, she did. I was sitting on my bed wondering if I should go with you back the U.S. when my bedroom door slammed open. Lily tackled me, handcuffed me, and covered us up with the blanket. She told me not to move, and I was just so dumbfounded I complied.”
“Likely story,” I mumbled.
“Hey! It’s true!” Conner defended. “You left, and I didn’t know what to do. You ignored all my calls and emails,” he told Aaron. “I kept packing and unpacking to go explain everything in person, but something kept holding me back.” He stepped towards her and me. “I loved you then, and still do. I wouldn’t do anything to hurt you.” He started towards us even more. I stuck out my arm out, hitting him in the shoulder. I glared at him, and he backed away a little. “Could you even forgive me? I never meant to hurt you.”

.:Chapter 8:. Aaron
The Whole Story?
Eva, Chrissy, Nathan, Gabriel, and I stepped into the loud, busy Pub.
“Hey!” shouted a voice from the corner booth, which I could tell was Patrick because of the red hair. He came towards us and I smiled, he made my heart warm due to his looks.
“I saved a booth for us,” he told everyone. The group started moving, and before Eva had the chance I took a risk by linking my arm in Patrick’s! I looked smugly at Eva’s dumbfounded look and chuckled when she stopped in her tracks, mouth hanging open. Her reaction was funnier and better than hanging on Patrick’s arm, which I could care less about. After all Eva and I had sworn to never ever, ever to fall for the same guy. I wasn’t even going to touch that issue with her. I’d all ready gone that road, didn’t need to mess a friendship up.
“Hey, Eva,” Gab said, which held a hint of jealousy. “Are you going to sit down or just stand there looking confused?” he teased, causing her face to get red, resulting in me to gloat a bit more.
“Um, I’m just going to use the restroom. I’ll be back, okay?” She said, causing me to feel a bit guilty.
“Whatever,” Gab muttered, everyone started to talk and I let go of Patrick.
“Jealousy fits you perfectly, bro,” I told Gab, with a twinkle in my eye, “Ireland is a wonderful, romantic setting to make your move.” I laughed when he glared at me.
“Really?” I blushed at the look Nate was giving, when he spoke. He knew that I had a huge thing for Ireland, and that it made me all mushy. It was a dangerous weapon for him to have in his arsenal.
“Ireland is beautiful,” Patrick said. “I should take ye on a tour of country side. My da has a van we could all fit in. I could introduce you to some of my friends.”
“Sounds good to me, but I’ll have to talk about it with Eva,” I told him, but speaking of her she was taking a long time.
“Uh-oh,” Nate said, causing me to look at what had his attention, alarming me. Eva had an angry panic look on her face. I slid out of the booth and grabbed her shoulders. Eva didn’t get mad like this often.
“Eva,” I said softly and slowly, trying to calm her. “What happened? Why are you so mad?”
She was shaking very badly, and only mattered to stutter, “H-h-h-him.”
“Him who?” I asked then gasped when my eyes focused behind her. Conner was standing right behind her. I flashed in instant to the two worse moments of my life.
“Aaron, what do you think you’re doing?” Conner screamed at me. I looked up from Nate’s arms to see my boyfriend standing in the doorway of Chrissy’s kitchen. I couldn’t form words. I was sad, angry and hurt. He hadn’t been there when I need him the most.
“Aaron?” Nate said with inquiry in his voice. He was waiting to see what I wanted. I looked up at him with tears, and clenched him in reaction to the caring look I saw in his face. At this moment Nate was the only thing keeping me from falling completely apart.
“Get Out!” Nate growled.
“Fine! If you love him more than me then I’ll leave, but just remember I’m the one she lost her innocence to.” The words stung because I’d been drunk that night, and sadly I had wished it been someone’s arms.
“No,” Eva whispered with vigor and spun around even with my hands on her shoulders, which had become limp. “WOULD YOU JUST LEAVE ALREADY!?!” She screamed at Conner, who was speechless. She stood in front of me to create a protective shield, but the damage had been done. I felt Nate place a hand on my back.
“Hey, Aaron, are you sure you want to do this?” Nate asked as we parked outside Conner’s house.
“Yea, He thought something totally different was going. He deserves to a least tell me why didn’t come to William’s funeral. He was looking for me.” Nate look like he didn’t believe me, but I let it go. I got out of the car and walked into Conner’s house since I had my own key. I wanted to surprise him so I went straight to his to his room; however, when I opened the door I paled at what saw. Lily was in his bed and both were naked. I rushed out of the house as Conner screamed my name. “Drive!” I ordered Nate. He didn’t question me, but did as I said. We drove for hours before we stopped near the lake William and I would swim at.
“Get out,” Nate told me, and did. I felt numb, and Nate was able to pull me all the way over towards the lake. The damn guy pushed me into the water.
“NATE!” I screamed. He smiled.
“You feel better now don’t you,” he said. I was going to yell at him some more but then realized he was right. “William always said the only way to get you out of a stoop was to get you mad in a place you loved. This just fit the bill.” I laughed and ran out of the water to give him a bone crushing, watery hug. I held onto him like he was the only thing anchoring my sanity. I had cried for hours in Nate’s arms that day. He was the only reason I was able to put me self back together. No one knew about what happen after I left Conner’s house, except for Nate and I.
“You need to leave her alone. She didn’t come here for you!” Eva yelled then lunged to push him, but he grabbed her wrists, spun her around, and pushed her onto her knees. He had her hands pinned to her sides, and couldn’t get out of it. At this point the people around us were staring at the commotion. I tried very hard to tune them out. It sucked Conner was still very much in shape. He had always been muscular.
“Please, let me explain,” Conner pleaded, causing a pain in my gut.
“Why should we?” Eva spat at him, with the venom obvious in her voice. I was starting to get feeling back in my feet so I shuffled them. As I did I realized I’ve never listen to what lie he was going to tell me. Taking a breath and leaning closer to Nate I finally spoke.
“I think we should let him talk, Eva.” I said, wanting to get everything out in the open. I came here to fix things with my friends, and this was needed to do so. No matter what he said I realized at this moment I didn’t love him.
I knew that since Eva’s mouth hung open she was dumbfounded again. Conner let her go then Eva stood partly in front of me. I felt loved with Eva and Nate trying to protect me from a guy who couldn’t hurt me anymore. I giggled when I saw the glare Eva was giving him as he started to talk.
“Likely story,” Eva mumbled.
“Hey! It’s true!” Conner defended. “You left, and I didn’t know what to do. You ignored all my calls and emails,” he told me. “I kept packing and unpacking to go explain everything in person, but something kept holding me back.” He stepped towards me. “I loved you then, and still do. I wouldn’t do anything to hurt you.” He started towards us even more. I was grateful when Eva stuck out her arm out, hitting him in the shoulder, causing him to back away a little. Nate had tensed like he was going to pounce, and I really didn’t want to start any fighting. “Could you even forgive me? I never meant to hurt you.”
