Faust gave a whoop of joy as he saw the green mind of
Ashlee enter the Gold mind of the root tree. The green radiated out through the hungry roots. But his joy soon turned to horror as the green and gold turned red.
An eldritch voice, partly that of
Ashlee, partly that of the trees, spoke out. "We combined. No longer a weak human. No longer a petty forest. But an ultimate being. Together we can see our true potential to spread and become so much more. The trees with our magic shall walk out and destroy those who stand beaneath us. Oak and Elm, Beech and Willow. Let us walk out and become who we are."
With that the trees slowly began to twist and turn. The soil beneath their rootsbludging a nd crumbling. F' screamed over the sound of creaking trees. "It's alive, the forest. It's walking."
Tierra tripped in shock. The trees around her were moving. She scrambled up and tried to spot Olwë. He flapped to her and sat on her shoulder screeching. "
Ashlee? Ash!" She shouted but no one answered. "Lady Luck must be turning her skirts on me." She muttered before scrabbling through the writhing roots to the main root. She found
Ashlee's body tangled in thick roots and glowing. The trees had joined with her. A branch swung out but
Tierra dodged it. "I knew we should have burnt it." She scowled whilst gropping for her dagger. "
Faust?!
Nervote?!
Andreas?!
Jeffery?! If any of you can hear me, we need another plan!" She screamed at the top of her voice and dodged another branch.
The limp boddy of
Ashlee began to pump with a redish glow. The branches lifted her up and held her in the highest tree. The mother, the root, the core.
"Soon, the island will be mine. Even
Morna will not have the power to stand against me. And i shall gain the powerf of the templle. But now, I need power!" Roots grew up through the earth around
Faust, surrounding him. "HELP!" The caged him in and began to sink agian. "Help." his crys where lost as he disappeared under the earth.
Tierra distressfully watched
Ashlee. Then she remembered the lady who had taught her about Lady Luck. The lady in a gold dress with a lucky smile. "Oh gods don't fail me now! Olwë find the others! I'l handle this."
She clambered the main tree to
Ashlee, watching for swinging branches. When she reached Ash, she swiped her sword.
Tierra sort of fell and climbed down to the case of the tree where she fell to the ground. "Lets hope the magic is still there." She scratched the one rune she knew with her dagger onto the blade. The rune was of poison.
The main tree was walking away now.
Tierra charged at the tree. As she did an odd cry came to her lips, one of the Lady Luck. "Val en Arwen Marth!" She lunged and the sword sunk deep into the tree.
Tierra was flung off by a branch. She lay on the ground waiting for something, even if it wasn't good.
Jeffery pulled out a large jug of booze and a small pair of bellows out of the wagon and ran away.
Andreas lookeed up
Ashlee. "We need to find some way to bargain with them."
The forest, speaking through
Ashlee, gave a hollow and bitter laugh. "Bargain? We
bargain no longer. We are tired of waiting! As one, we will have our revenge." The branches of every tree shook ominiously, startling every bird into the sky and every animal into open ground.
The trees began to draw them selves up higher. Surrounding our heroes in a vast arena. The root tree at their head.
