2007-09-03 [Kaimee]: hiiii, I want to make more entries. Things I didn't ask about last time:
-What quality printing will you be getting (if any of these actually get made up :P), and are suggestions for printing types open? Ie., matte vs gloss vs lustre, gsm weight, coating? Will it be professionally printed or are you going to attempt to do this job from home?
-it says no more than 3 colours, are you including tints? Ie, two different types of orange would actually be one (eg, pantone 021) and a 75% tint of that, etc.
-Does the business itself have a logo or logotype previously used?
-If a logotype we use on this is liked, will it be used as a logo in future?
etc :P
2007-09-03 [Sunrose]: What kind of qualities are there? :P
Open to suggestions yes :)
The 3 colours is a one of the criteria for a more professional looking card, but an extra tint of the same colour could be very ok :)
No logo, but the remedies have this logo: http://mijnspi
It could be that a logo submitted here will be used in the future as well, it depends on my mother too :P
2007-09-04 [Kaimee]: Hahaha, my dad would never lemme do this for him! He's a homeopath, so vaguely same field. Sorta. Kinda :P
Qualities? Cheap is one sided, coated regular stock. That's any sort of vaguely shiney card.
Slightly better is double sided, same stock.
Better is a nice coated matte stock (That really smooth non-glossy stuff)
And Expensive is a nice coated matte stock, with added extras:
Die-cut to a non-regular shape (round corners, or a little shape cut out, or a strange shaped edge.. whatever)
Uv printing (shiney clear non-colour gloss printed in shapes/pattern
Expensive but TACKY should be transparent business cards, metallic business cards, or any other strange sort of stock like that.
2007-09-04 [Sunrose]: Why not? :P
Amg :P
2007-09-04 [Kaimee]: Because he doesn't believe in business cards :P
2007-09-04 [Sunrose]: Oh :P
2008-02-17 [Kyrinn]: Ive not forgotten this contest, Ive just not had the time.. O.o Im gathering references now. Even if this is not chosen, would I be able to use it in a portfolio or something like that?
2008-02-17 [Sunrose]: Of course, the art remains yours :)
2008-02-17 [Kyrinn]: Okee dokee! Good to know. Ill start working on it this week. ^_^
2008-02-17 [Sunrose]: :D
2009-07-10 [Kaimee]: No idea if you still intend to get cards printed, but you should check out http://www.pri
Just had a client who didn't want to pay much for printing get some done through there ($40AU for 300 cards, free shipping to Aus, round corner die cut, and spot UV gloss, which is amazingly cheap :O) and they were very nice quality :D
2009-07-10 [pixish]: ohhh :o
I might make some up for the shop if they're that cheap :p
2009-07-10 [Sunrose]: There's a company here where you can order free cards, with predesigns. Since this was all taking too long, I did that instead :P
2009-07-10 [Kaimee]: Geez, you never selected a winner :O Evil girl :P
2009-07-11 [Sunrose]: There weren't 15 entrants :P
2009-07-11 [pixish]: Maybe there will be soon! :P
2009-07-11 [Sunrose]: Yush, I still have the prize :P
2009-07-12 [Sunrose]: Ewaat? :O
2009-07-12 [pixish]: x)
