A Happy Time
Deck the halls with boughs of holly.
Get ready for the Christmas Jolly.
Christmas time is almost here.
A time of love and holiday cheer.
Get ready for the smiling faces,
as Santa comes through the fireplaces.
Hyper kids with bouncing toys,
bring the parents their holiday joys.
Once the day is over and done,
the spirit continues to bring the fun.
Santa rides away, his sleigh in flight.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Mothers Christmas –
I would have traded all the presents in the world
To go back to a time where I could
Sit in my mother’s house and have Christmas with my family.
Neither tinsel town, nor lit Christmas tree is worth the joy
That mother’s smile meant to me.
I would give up the lights, decorations, the cookies
For one more chance to laugh in her presence
And let her beat me at scrabble,
Even though she spells worse than I do.
To have a chance to give her what she has
Asked for all these past months,
Which is nothing more than the whole family to
Spend time together and love each other.
I would forsake my caroling voice
For one last chance to dangle mistletoe
Above my father and her,
And watch her blush as we all cheered and joked
Merrily while watching the game.
I would give my Christmas sweater,
Matching hat, boots, gloves and earrings
For one more chance to drink egg nog
Till’ I laughed so hard that it came out my nose
And I would give my Christmas wish up
For one last Christmas spent at mother’s house.
But instead I stand in front of her grave
On the snowy morn of Christmas day
And one silver tear is all I have
And the joy of Christmas is nothing
Save the Christmases I spent with my mother.

A Poem for Christmas
Christmas!
The day Christ was born!
His Birthday reminds us,
To love, and not scorn!
It is all about family,
And friends who are dear!
We gather together,
To be of good cheer!
Remembering our loved ones,
On this special day!
Whether they're close,
Or so far away!
Lord bless the children,
The children of men,
Lord bring our dear ones,
Home once again!

Peace on Earth
Place your troubles on suspension
race your worries off the track,
toss your problems out the window
knock the monkeys off your back.
Silence all your inner demons
with your critiques make amends,
let yourself have some joyfulness
it's Christmas again.
Call a truce with those who anger you
let all the bloodshed cease,
give your differences a breather
declare a time of peace.
Don't let bad feelings sour you
the precious time you have to spend,
let yourself have some joyfulness
it's Christmas again.
Like cold refreshing water
or a gentle midnight breeze,
like a bunch of fresh picked flowers
or the smell of autumn leaves,
It's a feast for the spirit
filled with cheer and food and friends,
let yourself have some joyfulness
it's Christmas time again.

Sneak
I woke up, cozy in my blankets
A startling sound, scares me.
Sounds like horses.. reindeer!
A cup is put onto the table.. Santa!
I squeeze my eyes close,
My heart's a thumpin'
What if he knows I'm awake?
My eyes wonder open.
I hear a rustle.
Wrapping paper, crinkling.
An ornament smashes.
Oh no, mommy will be mad.
Steps are suddenly heard.
He's by my door.
I squeeze my eyes close,
My heart's a thumpin'
He has to know,
He opened my door.
Steps again,
But he's moving away.
I tricked Santa, ha ha.
He thought I was sleeping.
Morning, I squeeze my eyes close.
My heart's a thumpin'
I can't wait.
Creak, creak
the floorboard squeaked
The noise I'm making,
Will wake mom up.
"Who's there?"
I squeeze my eyes close
My heart's a thumpin'
Mommy grabs me by the hand
"Off to bed" she says.

Dream on!
Christmas comes with all it's folly!
Tis the Season to be Jolly!
Now the mistletoe is hung,
And the shopping has begun.
Tinsel hangs upon the tree,
And the children dance with glee!
Christmas lights are brightly glowing,
The shopping list is ever growing!
Wrapping paper strewn around,
Now the ribbon is on the ground.
Don’t let the dog knock down the tree!
Still the children dance with glee!
And when you think the job is done,
The shopping frenzy has just begun!
For that gift that must be had,
If the weather is good or bad,
You’ll be out in all that tussle,
To the shopping mall you’ll hustle,
Fight the traffic, crowds, and din,
Now the headache must begin!
Will you find the perfect gift,
Oh! My! Did you forget the list?
Now your home, with all your treasure,
Some Eggnog now, for a bit of pleasure!
Children now are finally sleeping,
To your own bed you are creeping,
Now! Upon the pillow lying,
Oh, is that the baby crying?
Dream on!

Dear Santa
Dear Santa, I wrote my Christmas list today.
I don't want no toys, or baby dolls that cry.
I don't want no cute puppy dogs wagging their tails.
I don't want no cuddly, meowing, purring kitties.
I don't want no pretty dresses, full of bows and sashes.
I don't want no shiny shoes, or socks that matches.
I don't want no candy canes, or Christmas stockings full of nice surprises.
I don't want no soft teddy bears, or make-up kits full of pretty things
I don't want no 3D movies, or music cd's.
I don't want no new games for my ps3.
I don't want no drawing pads, or colored pencils.
I don't want no glazed ham, or sweet buttered yams.
I sent you all my hopes and all my dreams.
I just want one thing, its all I want, its all I wish for.
I know its a lot this thing I ask, but its what Christmas means to me.
I want this war to end, for peace to reign across the land.
So mommy can stop crying and daddy can stop fighting.
So children across the world can smile once again.
So we can all dance and celebrate, and know that no bombs will drop today.
Dear Santa, I wrote my Christmas list today.

Sad Christmas
Christmas is a time for joy
but for me its not
last christmas you was in my tummy
and now i can't believe your gone
last christmas i lost so much
a little boy and a stepfather too
and all is left is memories
a baby i'll never hold
i spent my last christmas in hosptials
and for what i lost almost everything
christmas isnt a happy holiday for me
this christmas is going to be hard with out you
you will never see a chritmas tree
or open your first present
or see the pretty christmas lights
and you wont be here with me

Christmas Is For Everyone
The stockings are hung, all is hushed and still,
For everyone is sleeping, waiting for Santa to fill
Each one with goodies and fruit and little surprises,
Delighting the children of various sizes.
Everyone is dreaming of the excitement to come,
Gifts to be given and as well as gifts from,
Wrapped in pretty papers, tied with shiny bows,
Nature lending a hand as outside it snows.
The tables will be laden with finely baked goods,
The tree is all lit, 'twas cut from the woods.
The most celebrated day is about to unfold,
Cherished and savoured by both young and old.

The Real Meaning
If only to bring joy
To teach to love
Even if you
Do not believe
There was no tree
There were only three gifts
For a small boy
Whom some say was born this day
A starry night
An Angels song
Glory to God
His son was born
Many forget,
But this truth remains
Christmas can live
In more than one way
If only to spread joy
To teach about love
Even if you doubt
His hand reaches out.

Christmas Today
It is just you and I
We have been tighter
For so long
Yet this is the first Christmas
That will be just us alone
The room is too small for a tree
There is no money for the gifts we want
Let alone for the things we need
The stockings are empty
The cupboards are starting to go bare.
I need a job
You are over worked
We are both exhausted
Life can be difficult
With so much need
And Yet…
We hold this small happiness
It is Christmas
The season of love and hope
Hopes that tomorrow will be better
And knowing that it is true
After all
Having little money
Is better then being sick
Unable to enjoy the day
So we sit talking into the night
In the morning I bake a chicken
You make the stuffing
It is not much, but we are together
Holding each other tight
Our love shall keep us this way
