This is the 'loose Rules of the Arena' page. Meaning that some rules will stick and others might be ammended. I am mainly putting them here, so I don't forget any and since the arena is still under construction. WATCH THIS PAGE!!! I can't say it enough. If you go into combat and aren't aware of the rules and get DQ'd or banned from these wikis altogether, you will have no-one to blame. PLEASE READ THEM! Thanks.

-Keep it clean! Smack talking is encouraged on a fun level. Nothing more. Extreme insults and getting personal with an opponent will not be tolerated. If we feel things are getting out of hand, the parties will be notified personally, to tone it down or be Disqualified (DQ'd). If accepted, all will be forgotten...except the warning. If participant/s continue one or both parties will be DQ'd and banned from participating in the following tourney. Good rule of thumb: if you think you might be pushing it, don't say it.

-No porn. Nudity will be allowed, pornography will not. This means penetration, cock holding, oral magic, and any sexual activity. This goes for all kinds. Lesbian, Yaoi, Hentai...whatever. If it is considered Porn,...it's out...and so are you. Violation will result in forfeit, DQ, and banned from the following tourney.

-Originals ONLY!!! This is important and a big pooch screwer if you mess this one up, so MEMORIZE IT. This is a wiki working under the disguise of a competition. It's real purpose is to get people drawing on a regular basis, and to LEARN.

ORIGINAL WORKS ONLY

You will not be allowed to put up existing works, former contest entries (wether they won or not), or someone elses work. If ANY of these things are caught, and believe me they will be, not only will you be DQ'd but you will be banned FOR LIFE from participating, No gambling den either. All creds will be forfeit, and prizes revoked. Any wins that you may have gotten away with will be revoked. Guards will be informed in the cases of Art theft and it will be encouraged strongly that they be banned from ET. Like I said,...a big one. Art theft will by no means be tolerated at ALL. People that only enter drawings that they have done before are not here to expand themselves and their abilities and I'd consider it to be abuse to an opponent who is doing the best original work they can. So I repeat...violation of this rule will get you booted for good. "I didn't know" will not be good enough. If you don't think you can win without stealing or relying on a previous 'masterwork', don't enter. Breaking this rule means you will never exist in these wikis at any point in time, again.

Photoshop: Been getting a lot of questions about this one. The digital programs ARE allowed but judges will be advised to disregard any fancy-pants stuff, and look at it as if it were colored pencils or crayon. While I do realize that some of you may feel that this is limiting you from doing the best work you can, keep in mind that not everyone is so fortunate to have these digital programs or tablets to go with them. I feel it would be unfair for someone to win a competition from a 'lens-flare' effect from a program that some folks are not in a financial position to have.

Digital inking (Round 2 of any tourney)

IS NOT ALLOWED! We have had some questions as of late about the validity of some entries and wether the programs are being used soley as they should be. The thought was that if you were only using the pen, and brush tools, it was ok. But upon thought, there is NO WAY for us to tell if someone is using the digital ink honestly or is manipulating other tools in the programs to achieve an unfair advantage over an opponent. So to keep this from being an issue of debate in future contests, from now on the rule is: PEN, BRUSH, PAPER, and INK ONLY, and real life ones at that. NO PROGRAMS ALLOWED! NONE. If it is felt that you are using a program, you will be questioned about it, given and opportunity to rebuke (defend your work, and disprove accusations) and a judgement call will be made. PLEASE, PLEASE!,...don't let it get that far. This is supposed to be for fun and we are finding that new rules are having to be made to keep the field level. Just grab a pen and do it with your own hands. There is NOTHING here so important to win, it is worth cheating to do so, and would be a shame to ban folks who just need respect so badly they feel they have to do whatever it takes to win. Honest losers are a GREAT DEAL more appreciated than winners that take advantage to become so.

Enter and Stay Entered

Unfortunately, life happens to all of us, and sometimes we have to step out of our fantasies and into reality. It's a bite but it does happen. Thats why we are placing this rule here. If your schedule is too tight and you are more than 40 percent sure you won't be able to go the distance, DO NOT SIGN UP. We had a couple problems with dropouts and forfeits the first time around, and as a preventitive measure we are imposing a probation rule. Drops and forfeits will NOT be allowed to compete in the following tournament. I never expected EVE would catch on like it has, but the 16 slots we have...when they come open, folks want em. Some sign up and aren't sure if they can compete. If this is YOUR case DO NOT SIGN UP! Do the courteous thing, and leave that slot for someone who has the time and wants to participate.

2006-07-23 [Elisha Kelly]: I LUBS MY GIMP!

2006-07-24 [Mekashef]: This is all very straightforward.

2006-07-24 [Remos Page]: it like if you do a pencil drawing and say you have black in it and you use photoshop to make it very black ppl will know

2006-07-24 [Remos Page]: so don,t think ,i did it with a 6b pencil will work lol

2006-07-24 [Perplexity]: Yeah I think it's evident if you use it to drastically change your image, but sometimes you have to to improve the scan, and bring out details and stuff. It's just another thing the judges will have to take into consideration on a case by case basis.

2006-07-24 [iippo]: Yeah, it'll help balance out with people who have great scanners and people who have digital cameras. Although from what I know from my pencilling style, this will be an eraser-work -round, not pencil @_@

2007-03-17 [NOOOPE]: Gaaa... I feel stupid but I'm a bit confused about the whole digital problem. Like... a lot. What exactly can I/can I not do? Or, here, this is what I plan to do and you tell me if it's ok or not. I draw a picture in my sketch pad. I go over the pencil in ink, I scan it, I boost the contrast to make the page whiter, ink blacker and then color it in digitally. Is that all ok?

2007-03-17 [Kyrinn]: so long as you dont do any digital inking. It has to be actual pencil and inking. No corrections. So a straight unaltered scan.

2007-03-18 [NOOOPE]: but coloring it in digitally is ok, right?

2007-03-18 [iippo]: For the colour round, yes. But notice that the first round is pencil only, second round is ink only and colour is only allowed in the third round. And in the fourth round, if you make it there, anything goes. :)

2007-03-21 [Perplexity]: Listen to [iippo], she's got the low-down straight. =)

2007-03-26 [NOOOPE]: damn... I needa pay attention... I just did a crazy pen drawing for the first round... GREAT. Oh hell, I'll find a way.

2007-03-26 [Perplexity]: Well, at least it is still early. You could have read this the day of the deadline - that would have been a real tragedy!

2008-07-08 [Lothuriel]: ...participating, No gambling den either. All creds will be forfeit...

Didn't know if you would want to remove references to the Gambler's Den or not....

2008-07-08 [Perplexity]: We've really gotta read through all this with a fine tooth comb...

2008-07-08 [Lothuriel]: Oh, ok...sorry. *kicks can* Just findin' stuff to do tonight while my kids are actually preoccupied with bugs and whatnot.

2008-07-08 [Jeccabee]: I'm so excited about this! I watched it last time and it was cool.

2008-07-08 [Lothuriel]: Ah, dude! Just wait til you actually participate! it is such a thrill, especially when you get paired against someone who totally rocks!! It will really kick your muse's arse!

2008-07-08 [Cia_mar]: it really does challenge you to do your best!!!!

2008-07-08 [Jeccabee]: great! My muse needs a good kick in the pants! LOL

2008-07-08 [Cia_mar]: DITTO!!!!!!
