A long time ago (about 30 years), in a galaxy far far away (well, a room in the BBC any way)...

A remarkable Ape Decendant, under the name of Douglas Nole Adams, put forward an idea to another earth decendant under the name of Simon Brett.
This idea was "the Hitch Hikers guide to the Galaxy" Radio Series.
And so the most remarkable Radio series/Book/Computer Game/TV Series/Film/Cult Icon was born.

And then came the inevitable HitchHikers Wiki.

Here on Elftown is, finnaly, a place for all you hoopy froods can go to relax.
Brought to you by [ArchangelGabriel]

2005-04-03 [.Rosie.]: the film ..........at least i think i've seen it i'm not sure.......i forget ^_^

2005-04-03 [Estantia]: the film is yet to be released in england (and I can't wait to see it) however the tv series...

2005-04-05 [Charybdis]: Ha! I love this series ^^

2005-04-11 [Quenelle]: It's coming out in North America in May. The original movie twas a tad dated for my likings, but the book was the best work I've read.

2005-04-11 [ArchangelGabriel]: The new movie is going to be good. You know HHGTTG came third as brittans fav book after LOTR and Harry Potter. Which is very good seeing that at the time it wasn't a movie.

2005-04-12 [Dil*]: whoo can't wait for the film.

2005-04-12 [Charybdis]: When does it come out, anyway? I don't know anything about it other than that it exists.

2005-04-12 [ArchangelGabriel]: well in england it's the 29th of april but, May in america.

2005-04-12 [.Rosie.]: ok ok didn't have to say it twice gees

2005-04-12 [abandonedhouse7 7]: He said "liced bread" the first time LOL

2005-04-12 [ArchangelGabriel]: Yeah, i hadn't thought i'd sent it.

2005-04-12 [Dil*]: Arthur: "Ford you're turning into a penguin...Stop it!"

2005-04-13 [ArchangelGabriel]: Arthur: "Oh no my arms are drifting of into the sunset.... *GOSH* how am i going to operate my digital watch now?" SHIP: Welcome to the starship heart of gold. You are perfectly safe. FORD: Thats not the point. I'm a perfectly safe penguin and my colleage here is running out of limbs. ARTHUR: It's alright, i've got them back now

2005-04-13 [abandonedhouse7 7]: lol

2005-04-13 [ArchangelGabriel]: Ahhh... Improb drives rock!

2005-04-13 [ArchangelGabriel]: SHIP: We are crusing at infinite improbability Arthur: Ford? there's an infinite number of monkeys outside who want toshow us this script for hamlet they've just worked out.

2005-04-15 [Vesthrix]: Ok, [ArchangelGabriel], I'm here.

2005-04-16 [Dil*]: I love it..

2005-04-16 [jo has gone]: rooaar

2005-04-17 [ArchangelGabriel]: So, does any one want to be a reporter?

2005-04-17 [jo has gone]: ? urm sure

2005-04-17 [ArchangelGabriel]: Do you know much about hhgttg?

2005-04-17 [jo has gone]: nope. mwahaha

2005-04-17 [ArchangelGabriel]: Ah, well then you can't really help that much. You could add your name to the list though

2005-04-17 [jo has gone]: ya koolio. wheres the list?

2005-04-17 [jo has gone]: tankies x

2005-04-19 [my bloody tears clense me]: you suck

2005-04-19 [jo has gone]: hehehe yea i no

2005-04-19 [ArchangelGabriel]: Why do weird people go on to wikis and just put someithn gstupid like that. It's fineif you don't like a wiki but try put someithng constructive...

2005-04-19 [Charybdis]: i mean like its so cool. im cool if i put up a usles comment, rite? ;p

2005-04-19 [Charybdis]: That was hard! O_o I had to think to write that..

2005-04-19 [ArchangelGabriel]: lol. So hands up, who'd be intrested in a hhgttg contest?

2005-04-19 [abandonedhouse7 7]: *throws up hand* Me!

2005-04-19 [Charybdis]: Possibly ^^ *blithely procrastinates*

2005-04-19 [Vesthrix]: Why don't you delete really stupid comments?

2005-04-19 [NuclearHobbit]: Yea, hitchhikers guide to the galaxy!

2005-04-19 [ArchangelGabriel]: Because really stupid things that seemed like a good idea at the time is part of the very spirit of Hitch hikers. So at least one and a half intrested people. Ahh well, I'll run it any way.

2005-04-19 [Blaithin]: Ooo. This makes me want to read the book again.

2005-04-19 [abandonedhouse7 7]: And me!

2005-04-19 [Charybdis]: Ah, crap! I've just realized that I lent the first two books to my friend ;_;

2005-04-19 [ArchangelGabriel]: I've reread the books and am now listening to the radio series non stop. So, does any one know what they want to draw?

2005-04-19 [Charybdis]: Wasn't there a falling whale? And a petunia? It's been a while since I've read the series.

2005-04-19 [Blaithin]: I still have to finish the series...gives me something to do now ^.^

2005-04-19 [ArchangelGabriel]: yep, that was Agrajag

2005-04-19 [Charybdis]: XD That was it

2005-04-20 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Fallout II has a random occurence scene involving the impact area of the whale and petunias.

2005-04-20 [ArchangelGabriel]: lol, Hitch hikers gets every where. Only to day our science teacher was showing us a video about space called 'Encyclopedia Galactica'

2005-04-20 [abandonedhouse7 7]: lol

2005-04-20 [Vesthrix]: I have never had that enconter. *goes to play some more fallout 2*

2005-04-20 [Jay Ladlehaus]: oh man, you are missing out. First time I saw that I was dying with laughter. That is probably my favorite along with the Monty Python bridgekeeper scene.

2005-04-20 [Vesthrix]: Yay, I have had that one. It was great.

2005-04-20 [Jay Ladlehaus]: plus you can pick up some bitchin' armor fairly early in the game.

2005-04-20 [Charybdis]: Evidently I am among the unenlightened here -_-;

2005-04-22 [Estantia]: unenlightened? yup, that's me...

2005-04-22 [ArchangelGabriel]: Totaly. And your planet hasn't even been blown up yet... ^_^

2005-04-22 [Charybdis]: Yours has?

2005-04-22 [ArchangelGabriel]: Nope but i'm sure if i don't keep up the payments some vogons will be happy to. or a mad phychitrist. Curse ye gag helfront.

2005-04-22 [bungalowbill]: I should like to join! Douglas Adams is a genious. Is this a joining-type wiki? Also, everyone should get their hands on "The Salmon of Doubt" posthaste.

2005-04-23 [Dil*]: ooo I want that!

2005-04-23 [Charybdis]: Lol! It's great ^^ I'm partway through it right now, actually!

2005-04-23 [ArchangelGabriel]: I've had a copy of the salmon and both versions of the meaning of liff for ages. To join you have to add your nmae to the list of people at Section ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha

2005-04-23 [Purple Artichoke]: that poor whale....sniff*

2005-04-23 [ArchangelGabriel]: I feel more sorry for th bowl of petunias... poor Agrajag,m it was just fate playing silly b*ggers with him.

2005-04-23 [Cathos]: *preens* I probably ought to join this place really... *wanders off to join*

2005-04-23 [ArchangelGabriel]: yay, thanks.... And if now if any one wants to be a reporter then they can write about llintilla

2005-04-24 [Na no da!]: This wiki has been nominated for TWOT Wiki awards voting will take place after nomnations, or you could go and nominate some more wiki's , good luck!

2005-04-24 [ArchangelGabriel]: Thanks ^_^

2005-04-24 [bungalowbill]: I loved the short story about Genghis Kahn. Gold.

2005-04-24 [ArchangelGabriel]: Eh? What youmean about mr prosser being a direct blood relative? I'm confuzzled...

2005-04-25 [bungalowbill]: No, there's a short story in The Salmon of Doubt called "The Secret Life Of Genghis Kahn." Its awesome.

2005-04-25 [ArchangelGabriel]: Ahh... i hadn't read that one...

2005-04-25 [Jay Ladlehaus]: if you go to [Vesthrix]'s "Tardis wiki, one of the Dr. Who episodes there was done by Douglas Adams.

2005-04-25 [bungalowbill]: Oh, nice.

2005-04-25 [ArchangelGabriel]: I thought he did quite a few of the dr who episodes? I know he worked alot with the monty python crew.

2005-04-25 [abandonedhouse7 7]: lol, Monty Python. ^_^

2005-04-25 [ArchangelGabriel]: yep, and of course he did a bit of work with endangered animals... Mainly Cats who have been put in boxes under the name of shrodinger.

2005-04-26 [bungalowbill]: Dang. Is this encyclopedic knowledge of the works of Mr. Adams all out of your head, or do you have tomes of information to reference?

2005-04-26 [ArchangelGabriel]: I just know a lot. You pic this sort of stuff up. Has any one read 'last Chance to See'. It's very good and often over looked.

2005-04-26 [Cathos]: *wants to be a Cambridge don with a TARDIS for an office when she grows up* Shada is definately my favourite Who adventure. Its a real shame they didn't finish it when Tom Baker was playing the Doctor, but the Adamesque quality of the script suits Paul McGann's doctor wonderfully. *steps back into her type 40*

2005-04-26 [Vesthrix]: Don't we all?

2005-04-26 [Jay Ladlehaus]: no, we don't. I want to be diminutive pseudo canine that shoot freakin' laser beams out the eyes!

2005-04-27 [bungalowbill]: I just want to be a cat.

2005-04-27 [Jay Ladlehaus]: *shoots cat wannabe into www.cathug.com* Negative!

2005-04-27 [ArchangelGabriel]: Hmm... An infinite improbablility drive would be nice, but i could settle for an electric thumb.

2005-04-27 [bungalowbill]: Yeah, good call there.

2005-04-27 [ArchangelGabriel]: So... Any one excited? Tomorrow is the premire *buzzing*

2005-04-27 [bungalowbill]: There's no Movie Theatre in Gunnison... So I'd have to drive 66 miles to see it. I'll prolly wait till May.

2005-04-27 [ArchangelGabriel]: Ouch... It's great living in cramped litle england, it's almost impossible to be more than 10miles from a cinema

2005-04-27 [bungalowbill]: Yeah, that's a plus for sure.

2005-04-27 [Charybdis]: I wonder if my local cinema will show it in English... -_- I doubt I'll be seeing it anytime soon, lol. You'll have to tell us your impressions ^^

2005-04-27 [ArchangelGabriel]: I certainly will. I'm going to go and see it on friday so when i come back you will get a full review.

2005-04-27 [Blaithin]: Maybe I can get some friends together and we can drive to the theatre....I don't want to have to wait for it like I do every other movie hehe

2005-04-27 [bungalowbill]: To be honest, I'm very skeptical. In the trailers, Zaphod is monoheaded!

2005-04-28 [abandonedhouse7 7]: *gasp*!

2005-04-28 [Jay Ladlehaus]: abomination! heresy! Those infidels!

2005-04-28 [ArchangelGabriel]: NO, he's got two heads ... but on eis under his chin. It saves haveing a cheap rubber puppet with a vaugley shocked expression sitting on his shoulder. I'm not happy with it but its better than the BBC way.

2005-04-28 [abandonedhouse7 7]: Ohh... okay.

2005-04-28 [bungalowbill]: Hmmm... doesn't it state rather explicitly that the other head is on his shoulder? I seem to recall a bird cage...

2005-04-28 [ArchangelGabriel]: Yeah.. thats how he explained the 'Phill' incident. I tihnk this way could work too though....

2005-04-28 [Cat0132]: I love hitchhikers!

2005-04-29 [ArchangelGabriel]: yay! Prove it by putting your name on Section ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha....

2005-04-30 [ArchangelGabriel]: The old TV series is being repeated on BBC 2 at 11:30pm (check that time). Also, please add your reviews to the HHGTTG Reviews

2005-04-30 [Vesthrix]: Saw the movie last night. It was good.

2005-04-30 [ArchangelGabriel]: Yeah, i liked it. the so long song sounded really familiar... but i don't know where from. Any ideas? Did any one else notice who was standing in the que at the office on vogshere? ha, I couldn't hel;p but point a laugh. Plus the last face you see when the ship dissapeared... HA. Word to the wise. Watch ALL off the credits and you'll see a bit of extra stuff...

2005-04-30 [Cat0132]: haha I loved Zaphod...

2005-04-30 [ArchangelGabriel]: i think i can forgive them for the placement of the second head. So did you notice the being that happened to be in the office? And can any one recognise the so long and thanks for all the fish song?

2005-04-30 [Vesthrix]: Yes I notice the character from a previous HHGTTG movie in the Q. Definitely one of my favorite parts.

2005-04-30 [ArchangelGabriel]: And what about the song? Does anyone recognise it?

2005-04-30 [bungalowbill]: SO, as I assume many of you are DNA purists, whats the final judgement? Scale of 1-10

2005-04-30 [Charybdis]: Lol! I'd never noticed that his initials were DNA :p
