PR - Part Two

PLEASE NOTE: I might control your legendary to guide the plot, DO NOT COMPLAIN.

Characters:
Denji
Bridget

"So..hungry," Bridget stumbled across the dirt path with ever decreasing energy and enthusiasm, mumbling to herself about perceived starvation - though in reality it hadn't even been a day since her last bit of food. Dusky floated along behind her happily, making an odd noise every now and again but none the less, suitably at ease with their current situation. "Dusky, reckon you can fly up and see if a city is near by?" The girl paused and turned to her Pokemon, the ghost just span around in a little circle and then floated up to above the trees. It wasn't like Bridget had intended to run away, no, she'd been playing and just happened to go further than expected..then just kept going. "Mew," the pink creature reappeared in front of her and held out a small berry in its little paws. Bridget reached out and took the berry, eyeing it before taking a small and cautious bite. "ERH," she spat the sour thing out furiously and began to gag, causing Mew to start giggling. "Yeah, yeah, really funny there."

When had things turned so hopeless? Bridget was hardly a seasoned traveller or trainer and here she was about to starve to death in the middle of no where.

Absol watched the strange girl interact with the tiny pokemon from a rocky outcropping a short distance away, his eyes narrowed slightly, he had only seen this kind of thing happen between Denji and the other pokemon, he was curious but cautious, he decided to approach when he sensed the purity and seeming innocence coming from the pokemon, in a single leap he landed near the pair and stood there looking at them.

Bridget smiled and petted the floating Mew on the head, drawing a happy mumble from the creature how leaned happily into the touch. Duskull came roaring back down to her side however when he had sensed Absol's presence, the ghost pokemon taking up guard by his training. Bridget herself visibly tensed and jumped backwards as the graceful pokemon landed and stared at them, looking, for all purposes sake, like a wild animal ready to attack them all. "Hello?" Stepping back another few paces, she looked right back at Absol.

Absol slowly turned away from them and started to walk into the nearby foliage, every now and then stopping to look back at them as if beckoning them to follow him before jumping into the thick underbrush.

"Are we supposed to follo-hey wait up," Bridget couldn't even finished her sentence before both Mew and Duskull had floated off after Absol. It looked like she didn't really have a choice, but her pokemon would never lead her into danger. Letting out a slow sigh, the girl made off after her team and followed them into the foliage, hands swiping out at branches as she tried to claw her way through.

Absol emerged into a clearing near a river where Denji was relaxing with his Pokemon, Milotic was happily swimming through the water with Samurott, Suicune was sleeping under the shade of a large tree while Kabutops and Vaporeon happily muched on their bowls of pokemon food as Denji rested calmly beside Suicune watching everyone enjoy the sunny day, he heard the rustle of leaves as Absol arrived and joined Denji under the tree, resting his head on Denji's leg.

"Well now" Denji said with a smile "welcome back, did you enjoy your stroll?" he asked as Absol seemed to settle down for a rest, the only reply he got was a small yawn from the dark pokemon as he closed his eyes.

There was in inaudible mumble, followed by an 'I'm stuck', before Bridget pretty much fell through the bush and into the clearing, landing unceremoniously on the floor in a less than dignified heap. Bits of branch stuck out of her black as well as a few flowers from the trees and general twigs. Mew floated down to her and sat on her head, thinking it all a game, while Duskull chuckled meanly - before freezing as it spotted Denji and his group.

Denji and his pokemon all turned to the source of the sounds and saw a girl in a crumpled heap with a Duskull laughing at her and a Mew sitting on her head "do you mind" Suicune said in a sleepy voice "I was trying to sleep here" the legendary pokemon rose his head and looked at the newcomers before focusing on Mew "I take it that she is your chosen?" he asked the tiny psychic pokemon.

Mew flitted around to face Suicune and the floated over to him, eyes big and beaming. "She is indeed, a precious little thing," the pink pokemon did a back flip in the air and eyed Bridget as the girl struggled to stand.
Bridget herself began to pluck bits of greenery from her hair, not really noticing Denji.

As Suicune and Mew 'chatted' Denji walked over to the girl and knelt down beside her "need a hand?" he asked as he held out his hands andstarted to help her remove her 'garden'.

"She seems....uncoordinated" Suicune said as he watched the girl with an appraising expression "do you think she will be able to hold her own against what may come our way?"

"She's just a little wet behind the ears," Mew floated above Bridget as Denji walked forwards to aid her, its tail flashing around casually in the air.

Bridget jumped a mile as Denji began to remove her grassy hair accessories, not having seen him arrive. She blinked a little and then began to mumble, so used to her Dad doing all the talking that it seemed alien to be by herself with someone - let alone a boy. "Th-thank you."

"no problem" Denji replied as he calmly extracted the twigs and leaves from her hair "I take it you followed Absol here?" he asked trying to make conversation.

Vaporeon inched forward to get a better look soon she was nose to nos with the girl, with a curious expression still in her face.

"Yeah," Bridget looked down shyly, eyes glancing up to Mew for a moment before landing upon Vaporeon, who had slowly approached her. Now face to face with the ADORABLE pokemon, she couldn't contain herself and reached out to stroke it's head. "So.....cute," Bridget muttered, oblivious to the fact Denji's pokemon might be cautious and not want to be touched by a stranger. Duskull glared at the water pokemon and quickly floated down to try and get in the way, determined to not let HIS trainer give it too much attention.

Vaporeon sniffed the girls hand but moved away as Duskull swooped between them, Kabutops stepped between Vaporeon and Duskull and glared at Duskull, brandishing it's blades, Denji eyed the two "he gets jealous easily, doesn't he?" he asked the girl with a slight tone of amusement.

"He's only a baby," Bridget grabbed the 'far from baby' Duskull and pulled him into a hug, the ghost pokemon huddled in and made a happy noise. "I didn't think I'd find anyone else wondering around out here, my names Bridget Hiroko." Managing to balance Dusky with one arm - it was a ghost after all - she extended a hand to shake Denji's. The girl didn't think twice about offering her full name since it didn't really cross her mind that someone might know her father.

Denji's eyes narrowed for a moment when he heard her family name but quickly covered it up, he had heard the family name Hiroko before when he met the team responsible for the design and construction of his Snag Device, he helped her to her feet and smiled "call me Denji" he doubted she'd know his family name but didn't want to take the chance "and you've already met half of my pals here, Absol, Vaporeon and Kabutops" he then nodded towards the lake where Samurott and Milotic were watching calmly "and these are Milotic and Samurott" and then turning slightly so she could see the newest member of the team "and this, of course, is Suicune"

"Suicine?" Bridget tilted her head as she stared at the elegant looking pokemon, it was beautiful and she'd never heard or seen one before - must have been super rare. Smiling, she took out her own pokeballs. "I guess my friends would appreciate a little wander as well," Bridget mumbled as she released Froslass, Ghastly, Banette and Sableye. Banette instantly ran over to her and attaching himself to her leg while Froslass did a quick scope of the area, the icy pokemons gaze settling on Denji and his party. "You've met Dusky, well this is Banette," she held up said pokemon. "That's Froslass, Ghastly, Sableye and Mew," tilting her head upwards, having gestured to them all in turn, she nodded to the pink pokemon still flying around happily.

Denji looked at each of Bridget's pokemon in turn "if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say you specialize in Ghost types, interesting choice" he said approvingly as he lead her over to where he had set down his travel pack, kneeling down he started rifling through it "I'm a water specialist myself and Suicune isn't just 'super rare' he's a legendary pokemon like Mew, one of the three legendary beasts to be exact"

Suicune rose from his resting space and approached Bridget and looked deep into her eyes "you and Bequest of Ancestors have much in common" he said as he smiled at her "A gentleness combined with an inner strength, and a past tainted by Rocket Pack" he said calmly even as Denji seamed to tense up at the mentioning of Rocket Pack and Bridget's connection to it.

Absol looked up from where he had been sleeping and looked at the two humans waiting to see what would happen next even as Vaporeon and Kabutops went to Denji's side and waited to see the girls reaction.

"Did, did your pokemon just talk?" Bridget was stunned and fixed firmly to the ground, he grip unintentionally tightened around Banette who squirmed a little in response. She looked to Denji in a questioning manner. "And you, work for Rocket Pack as well," her tone was a little more level as she spoke, as if she didn't entirely know what the group was. Mew floated down to Suicune and spoke calmly. "She is unaware of the threat Rocket Pack posses, for all purposes sake ... they are just a company to her, a company her Father works for."

Denji remained crouching as he considered his reply "I used to work for them, but only because my father made me join them, he thought it would earn him points with the big man if he had me join the ranks and show off my skills, I had to do things I'm not proud of in order to keep my father happy, but I eventually left when I couldn't take it any more, I've been fighting back in my own way ever since" he explained as he fished out a couple containers of Pokemon food and set out a couple more bowls so Bridget's pokemon could have something to eat.

Suicune looked at Mew "you do realize she will see the true horrors of Rocket's deeds soon enough, don't you" he said with a hint of sadness for the impending loss of this girls innocence.

"Really? My Dad works for them too, do you know him?" Bridget was merrily oblivious to the dark tone in Denji's voice and his obvious discomfort when talking about Rocket Pack, so she just smiled and watched as he fed his and her pokemon. "His name is Isaac Hiroko..." She truly thought it would 'cool' if they fathers knew each other, almost like meeting him was determined by fate.

Mew looked down as Suicune spoke. "Which is why it's best to offer her freedom while the taste is still sweet," the pink pokemon offered a cryptic response, watching as Bridget's pokemon hungrily ate the food Denji offered them.

Denji stood up, turned to look at her and nodded "I met him when his team gave me this device" he raised his left arm to show the Snag Device "it's called a Snag Device, it makes any pokeball capable of catching other trainers pokemon, it was designed for the purpose of taking pokemon away from abusive trainers" he decided to lie a little at the end so she wouldn't know the true purpose of the device and instead tell her what HE used it for instead.

Suicune nodded as he heard Denji's explanation of the device, he could tell his human partner also wanted to keep the girl from the dark truth for a little longer.

"You save Pokemon," Bridget moved forwards and clasped his arm, inspecting the snag device from tip to tail. Maybe that was why her Dad was so secretive, the group must have dealt with some pretty shady characters if they were saving the poor Pokemon from people who could happily abuse them. "Did you hear that Dusky," diverting her attention from Denji, she swept around and grabbed the ghost. "How lucky are we to meet such a hero?"

Denji lowered his arm as he turned around "'hero' huh?" he said quietly as he pulled out a couple granola bars and handed them to Bridget "here, you look like you could use these, not to mention a cool drink, I have a water bottle in here somewhere" he said as he turned back to his pack and extracted a gourd of water "here we are, and don't worry about drinking too much, I planned on restocking when I reached the next town" he said with a smile as he handed her the bottle.

Bridget stared at the cereal bar with the look of a starved dog, she then hungrily took it and ripped the wrapper open before biting away as if it were the greatest thing on earth. "Thankyou," she said after swallowing a large bit of it. As Denji handed her the water she quickly washed some of it down. "Next town?"

Denji nodded "there's a town not far from where we are, that's where I'm headed, I have some....business to take care of over there" he looked at Suicune out of the corner of his eye,his thoughts were divided on how much he should tell her, since his business involved trashing the Rocket Pack installation there.

"Would you-erm," Bridget finished the water and then popped herself down on the floor, getting a bit comfy so she could rest up. "Would you want any ''help? I don't really know where I'm going you see...I..sort...of..." She mumbled the last part and then grinned at Denji. "I've never really battled before but I've watched loads on TV, and I used to watch my Dad do it all the time," Bridget said it in a 'how hard can it be?' sort of manner, causing Mew to let out a little chuckle.

Denji looked at Suicune with a raised eyebrow, it would be a bad thing for a wet behind the ears rookie to go up against Rocket pack thugs without being prepared, she would've been slaughtered without mercy, Rocket goons don't know the meaning of the term, 'holding back' "perhaps I should give you a few pointers with a training battle or two" he suggested "once you rested up that is?"

Sat cross legged, Bridget began to braid some of her hair as they conversed. "Pointers..like, tips and tricks?" She tilted her head and looked to Banette who had curled up next to her, happily eating some of the food which had been laid out for him. Mew soon floated down and then sat on her head. "Are we going to be battling really strong people or something?" She didn't know much about trainer battles, she'd only ever faced off against one person.

"Strong and ruthless" Denji replied "these people wouldn't think twice about beating your pokemon within an inch of your life and then taking them from you to use as slave labor, they're working out of a building 'disguised' as a Rocket pack facility, and they wont care how inexperienced you are" his face was dead serious "They. Won't. Hold. Back"

"What, how can they get away with that?" Bridget was extremely pissed at the idea of someone using Rocket Pack as a front for some evil plot, her eyes narrowed a little. "You're going to stop them right, that's your mission?"

"I have every intention of bring their plan down around there ears, and use the Snag device to relieve them of their pokemon" Denji replied "and they're getting away with it because the man running the operation is a former employee of Rocket Pack, so he knows how to fake records and hide his tracks" he explained as he sat back down beside Suicune and Absol.

Bridget suddenly crawled forwards in a furious manner, a look of determination in her eyes as she grabbed Denji's hands and held them in a 'united' fashion. "I'll help you, Dusky might only be a pet but my other pokemon know how to fight, especially Froslass," she gestured to the icy pokemon that was sat in a rather sage like manner a few paces away, watching over the situation. "I reckon we can make a good team, Ghastly can even get in there scout the area."

Denji nodded "very well, but you do realize I will have to test you to see how well you can hold up in a battle" he sad as hee looked into her eyes "and don't expect me to go easy on you either" he added with a small smirk.

Bridget smirked herself and stood up, brushing the back of her cardigan down before walking a few paces away. "Can we battle here?" She wasn't used to battle's in the wilderness since she'd only ever used a gym. "And what rules, usually me and my Dad do two V two," she looked at Denji's pokemon and began to try and decide what ones she would use.

"some are two on two" Denji replied as he got to his feet, Absol doing the same "most battles are one on one, expect both from those we go to fight" he began to stretch as he considered which pokemon to use "for now we'll do a simple one on one battle with two pokemon each, how's that sound?"

"Deal," Bridget nodded her head and suddenly brandished a small hair-tie, she quickly grabbed her dark hair and tied it up into a pony tail since it was best to have it out of her face during battles. Looking through her pokemon, she knew straight away that she'd use Froslass and Banette since they were her most trained and powerful. "Come on guys, you know the deal." Froslass and Banette both moved forwards so they were in front of Bridget, the doll like pokemon bouncing around eagerly whilst the icy female regarded Denji with a calculated stare.

Denji nodded as he took his position a small distance away from her "Absol, Vaporeon, it's go time!" he said as the aforementioned pokemon were up and at his side in a flash, both ready for action.

Absol seemed to glare at Froslass while Vaporeon seemed to smile at Denji almost like she was as eager to get started as Banette was.

Denji smiled "these two have been my partners the longest and so we have the greatest experience battling together, but don't think Kabutops, Samurott or Milotic are any weaker by comparison" he explained "Vaporeon, you're up first" he said as the Bubble Jet Pokemon leaped foreward and awaited her opponent.

"Banette, this one is yours," Bridget clenched her fists and took on a stern stance, features twisted into a stern expression. Banette flipped forwards and began to dance around before poising itself to battle Vaporeon. "Do you're best, okay," she spoke softly, Bridget didn't like ordering her Pokemon around as if they were tools. Froslass remained by her trainer's side, trying to ignore the idiotic doll pokemons dancing and strange antics.

Denji's face became like an emotionless mask "Vaporeon, Toxic and Bite" he said calmly, Vaporeon acted instantly by spitting a glob pf purple goo at Banette's face and then lunging right at the ghost pokemon, teeth bared.

"Shadow sneak," Bridget yelled, and with it Banette vanished from view, seemingly disappearing into the ground. She watched as the toxic hit the floor and the Vaporeon looked around, its eyes wide and alert. Banette appeared from behind the water pokemon and went to finish its attack with the strike to the back.

Vaporeon turned just as Banette's attack struck and suddenly began to cry, for all intents an pruposes it looked like Vaporeon was bawling her eyes out at the pain from Banette's attack.

Banette looked full of glee at Vamporeon's misery and just bounced on one leg to another, its toothy mouth spread into a wicked smile as it waited for Bridget to issue her next order. The dark haired girl slammed her balled up fist into her palm. "Now used screech," she covered her ears as the doll pokemon let out one hell of a shriek. '

Suddenly Banette's attack was cut short by a powerful blast of boiling hot water, Denji smirked as the attack struck the ghost pokemon head on 'Fake Tears followed by Scald' he thought to himself Vaporeon's favorite combo His face became a mask again "Aqua Ring" he said in a level tone, Vaporeon nodded and her eyes glowed as a ring of water formed around Vaporeon and her fins began to glow healing the miner scrape she received from Banette's ealier attack.

"Whu," Bridget's expression fell as Banette took one hell of a hit from Vaporeon's water attack. "Shake it off Banette, attack with shadow ball while it's healing itself." The pokemon winced and nodded, blasting forwards to attack the healing pokemon while it's defences were down.

"Detect, then Hydro Pump" was all Denji said, Vaporeon's eyes flashed as she easily evaded Banette's attack and followed up with a massive jet of water, Denji nodded as he knew this battle was nearly done, but he already knew Brdget would be able to hold her own with only minor aid from him.

Banette jumped upwards as its move was avoided, sky born for a second before beginning to descend. "Shadow sneak," Bridget yelled, knowing that the move would hit first due to its priority in battle. The doll pokemon seemingly vanished from sight before the hydro-pump could even get it and then reappeared behind Vaporeon. It was evident that Denji thought he had the battle in the bag, such assumptions made for mistakes she could easily abuse.

"Enough!" Denji said as Vaporeon was struck to the ground again "this battle is over, and I've seen all I need to see" he and Absol walked over to Vaporeon, Denji carrying a small potion and Ether to heal his friend "I can see you can hold your own in a fight and that's what this was all about" he explained as he knelt down and helped to spped up Vaporeons recovery with said items, once he was sure she was healed up he lifted her up into his arms and petted her head "you did great little one" he whispered to her as she fell asleep in his arms, he then turned to Banette "you were quite impressive my new friend" he said with a grin "I can see why she relies on you in a pinch"

2012-02-11 [Rice]: *opens the door and struts in* Hey :) When are we allowed to begin?

2012-02-11 [Aeolynn]: You can write an intro now if you'd like. Choose a place to meet

2012-02-11 [Rice]: I'll write the intro :), but leave it open for Denji to make solid use of. A pretty vague meeting maybe on the outskirts of a city might suit.

2012-02-11 [The Last Dragoon]: it has begun *insert ominous music here*

2012-02-11 [Rice]: *takes a seat*

2012-02-13 [The Last Dragoon]: *offers Rice some popcorn*

2012-02-17 [Rice]: *eats all the popcorn* Mmmmmm~ yummeh

2012-02-24 [Rice]: Sorry I took so long to post, University is kicking my arse at the moment.

2012-02-24 [The Last Dragoon]: no problem, I totally understand

2012-02-24 [The Last Dragoon]: fyi Vaporeon was using the move Fake Tears

2012-02-27 [Flisky]: Why are you using three moves at once before the other player can respond? *just curious*

2012-02-27 [The Last Dragoon]: aqua ring is a continuous move, it's constantly in effect, Detect was for defense while Hydro Pump was used as a counter attack

2012-02-27 [Flisky]: Uh-huh. I just thought it would be more....fair....if people did one move at a time. (And I know what aquaring does, thank you. I'm talking about attacking twice in one turn and assuming it hits....)

2012-02-27 [The Last Dragoon]: technically Detect was first and allowed Vaporeon to dodge the attack and follow up with an attack of her own

2012-02-27 [Flisky]: Detect should only work if used before the attack...but that's not what I'm asking.

Clearly I'm not going to get an answer, so I'm just going to say carry on. :P

2012-02-27 [The Last Dragoon]: sorry if I can't make it any clearer than that
