Greetings, and welcome to Elftown's official 'Desktop Design' Contest!

Rules:

1. NO STOLEN ART!
Images must be created by Elftowners and posted here by the original artist. Which means, no matter how much you might like a particular image on somebody's house, you are not allowed to add it here. This includes random images from the net too. MAKE YOUR OWN DARN IMAGES, DON'T STEAL THEM AND TRY TO CLAIM THEM AS YOUR OWN! That makes us angry, very angry indeed.


2. QUALITY ISSUES
Please put forth your best effort and the best quality, i.e.
- no drawings on lined notebook paper
- no pictures or bad scannings of your drawings
- drawings must be new. That means you may not submit a drawing you have made before this contest or one that was submitted to another contest already.
- drawings must be well shaded and/or coloured and have some type of background. Sketches will not be accepted.


3. EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT TWO (2) ENTRIES.


4. ALL IMAGES MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN!
Ask [Sunrose] or [Charybdis] for wiki-privs if you don't have them already; members who follow the uploading art rules, and thus are not troublemakers, will be granted these privs. See advanced help for more information about privs.


5. SUBJECT MATTER AND MEDIUM
Since the winners will be featured on Mainstreet, images that depict graphic violence, pornography or other disturbing actions will not be accepted. Only images that fit the theme will be allowed.

All mediums, except photography (and/or manipulations) and animated GIF's, will be accepted.


6. SIZE
Because the images must be usable as desktop-images, they have to be the proper size:

The ratio of the image must be 4 (width) by 3 (height).
The minimal size the image must be is:

Width: 800 pixels
Height: 600 pixels

Other examples of useable sizes are:

Width: 1024 pixels
Height: 768 pixels

OR

Width: 1280 pixels
Height: 1024 pixels


7. ASSIGNMENT AND THEME

The assignment is: Design a background image for your desktop.
The theme is: Forest

What is a Desktop?
The desktop is the background behind all your windows, menus, and dialog boxes on your computerscreen: your virtual desk.
The desktop image on the background is also referred to as 'wallpaper'.

Images not following the assignment and theme will be removed.




DEADLINE

30th of September


Ten images will be picked out by the Council and the Assembly among all those presented and a Mainstreet poll will tell the two (2) winners.

Participants will receive a squirrel badge, and winners will receive a coloured version of the same (or a green/coloured Masters of Building if they are commited art donors).
