| Oh, thy great Pegasus, flying way up high, Soaring across the heavens, such wonder in the sky. Through the clouds on golden hooves you dance, Gracefully you glide, majestically you prance. Your shimmering wings glisten, capturing each ray of gold, Truly an essence of beauty as legends have been told. The prism of promise over which you leap, Signifies God's Word, His covenant to keep: "The land consumed, swallowed by the sea; The earth again flooded, thus shall never be." On this day of "Christ"-mas, was born thy Holy Child, God's only begotten Son, so humble, meek, and mild. With a predetermined destiny, the Deliverer of peace, The Savior of souls, instilling hope never for to cease. Pegasus, Golden Promise, as with honour you proclaim, All across the universe, as you repeat His holy name: "A merry "Christ"-mas to all and a happy New Year", With Christ still in "Christ"-mas, believers shall not fear. Although a legendary star of mythology, a constellation, The message you deliver, a surreal revelation, Is, we celebrate in the highest power, the birthday of - Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the ultimate Gift of Love! |
| The Pegasus in this artwork is my "Golden_Promise_Pegasus". As I was creating him, the idea of the rainbow in the sky, which he could be jumping over, continually invaded my thoughts. The rainbow is a symbolism of God's Promise that He will never again flood the earth. Since Medusa, Pegasus' mother, a Gorgon, had golden hair and wings, the idea of picturing Pegasus with some of his mother's characteristic with his golden hooves and wings, as inherited golden characteristic great Pegasus. Therefore, these two explanations put together, are the factors that played the definitive role in the naming of this Pegasus of mine. It has also been interesting and rather a nice compliment, seeing it is my Pegasus with "golden attributes" that has gotten the attention of many; it is my Pegasus that has and does stand out among the rest, most of which are white, but in the world of equines, of horsemen and horsewomen, the colour is really considered to be "grey" or "gray", depending on which English you use or speak. The only true white horse is the Albino, which also has blue, pink, or glass eyes. |
| Initially, I wanted to have my Golden Promise Pegasus incorporated into a Christmas theme. The idea of Pegasus carrying a banner manifested itself prominently and so, my Christmas_Pegasus evolved. However, I wasn't quite satisfied with it. It seemed to lack something, perhaps a stronger or deeper message that I wanted to also portray. It wasn't until I wrote the poem, however, did the underlying message I wanted to portray reveal itself. After I wrote the poem, I went back into my Photoshop Studio and then created the version emphasising the "true meaning and reason why we celebrate and honour 'Christ'mas". It was only after I brought in the emphasis of "Christ" being the 'reason for the season', did I feel that my artwork was then completed. :) |

What an exceptionally brilliant Pegasus! It won my vote in the poll no question. I know the time you spend, because I witness the amount of time you put into your work. It shows my love. [Artsieladie], you are an "Artsy Lady"! Your daughter couldn't have thought of a better or more fitting name. I commend her too.

Most of the time in this piece is involved with Golden_Promise_Pegasus itself, which involved weeks. I am definitely a fanatic with detail. EJ will like to know this. :) *hug*
