RULES

1. GENERAL RULES
For the general rules see Elftown Creature Marathon#RULES!

Copied art is NOT permissible in Elftown's Official Contests. Please see: Copying vs Fanart & Referencing.

2. EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT ONE (1) ENTRY
Exceptions might be offered if there is a valid reason for it. But, if you do submit more than one image, you will greatly lower your chance of winning, as the votes for your style will be spread out on two entries.

3. IMAGES MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN.
Note: For images larger than 500 pixels wide, you will need wikiprivs to upload these larger images to a wiki page.

To upload your image full-size:
You can use the feature 'Upload a folder of images', a button shown at the top of your house.
This feature allows you to upload one, multiple images or zip-files in their original size to a wikipage.
<URL:upload_zip.html>
Once you click this link, simply follow the instructions.
See also: uploading images.
You may also ask for priv 99:
This priv allows you to upload images directly to a wiki-page.
You may ask [Hedda], [Yuriona], or directly on the Guards page for this priv 99.

4. THEME
Any entry that does not follow the "Fantasy Warrior theme", will be removed.

5. MEDIUM
All mediums, excepting photography (and/or manipulations) and animations will be accepted.

REMEMBER THE GOAL: We want:
- The BEST QUALITY images
- The MOST TYPICAL "Fantasy Warrior" images
- LARGE IMAGES
...to represent Elftown having the best Fantasy Warrior Page on the Internet as part of the Elftown Creature Marathon!

What is a typical fantasy warrior?

Well, there are many kinds, but to win this contest you need something that clearly shows that it's a fantasy warrior. A fantasy warrior with an oh, so magical sword, isn't considered a good illustration of a fantasy warrior, if he looks just like a medieval knight.

Some tricks to make it more fantasy
You have to have some proof that your photo is a fantasy warrior and not just a normal warrior. These are a few suggestions:
- The weapon has to be BIG, bigger than is practical.
Plain swords are boring. If it is a sword, then it should have spikes.
- Lots of hair, looking no way near normal, natural hair.
- Loads of muscles or huge, unpractical breasts, if it's a female warrior.
- The armour might be very heavy plate-armour, but for some reason it doesn't cover the face, the stomach and the upper legs and arms.
- Fairies sitting on the warrior or glowing magical items.

Some "don't"s:
No, it's not a child. It's not a fat person. The warrior might be old, but must appear to be in fighting condition.

Some OK's:
Different genders, races and types of warriors are allowed. You can have Greek, medieval European or Japanese, Roman, Celtic, Viking or something else as a background, but it has to have some fantasy in it.

If you have art of 'atypical' fantasy warriors, you're welcome to submit them here, but we'll mark them as outside of contest.

Reward

Aside from the regular rewards, as mentioned on Elftown Creature Marathon, the winner will receive credit for contributing to what we hope will be the best Fantasy Warrior-page on the entire Internet.

Two important notations:

---> #1: When the finalists are posted in the Main Street Poll or on a public poll page, the participants are not allowed to beg for votes for their own entry. Do not ask people to vote for your entry via private messages, guestbook messages, moods, wikis, or by any other means. Your entry will be disqualified if you are caught doing so. It is perfectly fine to advertise THE POLL, however!
---> #2: If you feel any of the entries break the rules, please speak up before the entries make it to the polls. You can still speak up even after the contest is closed, as long as the polls have not yet gone up yet. Complaints received after the aforementioned will not be considered valid.

/Thank you - the ECM Mods and the Elftown Council.
