2005-06-24 [Rondel]: Which guy? Regardless, I'm glad you got the order. Just so you know, the point of a restraining order is not (functionally) to keep the guy away from you; if he shows up, it won't make him leave. But what it WILL do is force the police to come out if he turns up within the restricted zone around you, again, AND it will give the police the power (and requirement) to put him in jail if he's still there when they get there. If he's got any sense, he'll leave before the police get there -- but then, he's left, which is the goal in the first place. Right? (Again, voice of experience speaking; in my case, the guy was an *experienced* crim, and took off before the police got there. *sigh*)

2005-06-30 [hanhepi]: well, you seem to write better in english than most americans. i think if you wanted to try writing in english you would do just fine. :D and if you dont know a word in english, ask a friend. write in a mix of swedish and english, then go through and figgure out the translations later so you dont loose your train of thought. that worked verry well for my spanish speaking friends in school.

2005-06-30 [Rondel]: I agree with [hanhepi], [Zab]; you write quite well in English (enough so that I hadn't realized that it wasn't your first language), and if you have to, you can always proofread your writing by running the Swedish version through an online translation program, to double-check your English wording. The idea of writing in a mixture of the two languages, so that you can keep the flow of your thoughts going as you write, then worrying about translating individual words only *after* the piece is fully written, sounds to me like a really logical and useful approach. But, frankly, if someone can talk to you for an extended period and not see how worthwhile you are, it is *they* who are pathetic.

2005-06-30 [Rondel]: I'm glad you folks enjoyed the webcomic. I have been working my way through the archives, and laughing so much as a result that I keep disturbing my daughter -- and this is one webcomic which I'm not quite ready to share with her at age 8, for reasons which are probably obvious to those of you who've read it. LOL But I'm hoping it will still be around when she's older, and will better understand and enjoy the humour; for now, I'm content to have seen SP bring a lasting smile to my husband's face upon his birthday, the likes of which I haven't seen there in FAR too long. *sigh* Always nice to find humour which can break through his pain to make him laugh, regardless.

2005-06-30 [Rondel]: LOL = Laugh Out Loud, [Zab] -- and no, I honestly hadn't realized that English wasn't your first language. I was born in the US, and grew up there, and believe me, you've got the average American beat "hands down", in terms of the quality of your writing, even given the idiosyncrasies and peculiarities with which English is riddled.
