WFR Guild Pages, Mods, & GMs

2006-02-06 [xido]: I have an update. The ET News will publish an item about the renovations in the guild, like our new ET Open RP pages, the Elftown Water Fountain Design Contest, etc. but I am still a little ways away from having this done yet. I am going to do my best to make a few quickie updates that will put us at around the half-finished mark of our updates, but I need all mods to know that we are in a bit of a hurry now. Any pages that I have asked someone to take on major updates on should try to make at least half-finished progress within the next week or two. This includes our work here with our page list. Now that you have that password, please do not hesitate to edit this page.

2006-02-11 [xido]: If I need to make edits, I will do so. Feel free to choose some Elftown Graphics to decorate for now, until we have some official WFR graphics to post. I'd like every Mod messaged to be asked this little push, along with a head count on who is involved with what page, if they know the responsibilities of their page, if they need help, etc. That would be awesome, and should be our priority for now. Any Q's go to me, you know. ;) Thank you.

2006-02-11 [xido]: I think our resident artists should have a cool scrol like this...   I am going to convince the WFR artists to do something like that for a few titles... I covered most of them on there.... I did NOT get all the Game Mods (GMs) yet, not even close.... just a start.

2006-02-12 [xido]: Forgot : WFR Lost Characters, modded by [Kim_Lundin], currently. I added RP for Dummies and Text Adventures, but forgot that one, and didn't ask Angel about Androntel yet. WFR Character Template, which has no Mod yet.

2006-02-18 [Raerlas]: ok. i will look into these things asap. and i will go through more places. if you need a mod for the teplate, i can do that too. Do you want me to message the mods about the head counts?

2006-02-19 [xido]: Yeah, whenever you can, and link them to this page. Ask [Juraviel] what he has an interest in, and if anyone needs a helping hand, he's the only one without a real job yet (I just stuck him up in there somewhere). All major mods of pages usually know what they do for the page, but if anyone asks, just refer them to msg me about it. Most updates done (except adding in ET Graphics pretties, mostly, and formatting. Msg everyone, and ask [Nightshadow] if she has any ideas about integrating the WSFR back into the WFR Guild... Thanks, babe! x.o)

2006-02-20 [xido]: I think all Moderators should also be asked to visit the WFR Rules & Guidelines, and post any opinions they have in the lower portion, where I have featured info to integrate. All sources were used for this, including the forum, old comments, and info from around the guild pages. I now want member personal ideas and hints to add. The Guild standard should also be critiqued and edited. I don't like it... it's just right. But boring. Get them all to look at it. Slap them all if you have to. We need mailing lists, I think. ;P

2006-02-27 [xido]: I made an update that was mostly centered on the updates we have going on (nearly up to par, maybe a month or so), and the pages being affected by this are listed as well (I added a list of pages that can use people's opinions and additions). I also did a major renovation to the WFR Rules & Guidelines, adding in useful info pages that will hold the info that the Guild has presently as well as future evolutions too. ;) These pages are official pages, too.

2006-04-17 [Raerlas]: eeek..its been a time since i've been on...college is frustrating this semester. i'll get caught up on everything asap.

2006-04-26 [xido]: understandable. I have been doing the same. I have been spending most time on here embellishing Renshunan, Map/Eastonia, and checking up on the ET Fountain Contest Entries... ;)  Take your time. Just look it all over, maybe take some quick notes about what you can see that needs to be done, and do it as you please. ;)

2006-05-09 [xido]: PLEASE please please feel free and welcome to post ANY opinions or ideas you may have about RPing in the wikis of ET or in real life or even creative writing techniques on the Rules & Guidelines page.... This is for you, Raer, but it is also for anyone who reads this. Please feel free to add an idea on the page (do not erase), or in a comment. I will go through every so often and make corrections as rules and tips are revised. I would LOVE to hear some input from others on what helps while posting on the wikis. What would you have wanted someone to tell you about it when you began wiki-ing? ;)

2007-11-13 [Kim_Lundin]: Figured I should notice everyone that work is being done on a WFR Library. It's supposed to become a place for posting fantasy and sci-fi stories. If you're interested in helping out, please drop a line.

2007-11-23 [xido]: You are doing a great job. Let me know if you have any questions about what should be done to these pages. I am highly impressed, and will not ask any more work of you until I am sure that I am doing enough to supplement your work. Simply being a member of facebook is going to be a huge help.

2007-11-25 [Kim_Lundin]: The main question I have right now is about how to sort the written stories, I have posted more information in the comments on the WFR Library. Another thing I'm wondering about is how Authors will be treated, should authors be added to the WFR Guild Members page? Should we have some kind of Author Application? But above all I need input from the rest of you guys, I don't exactly want to swipe this one all for myself.

2007-12-06 that xido guy: I also needed to let you know that the [WFR Art and Contests@wiki] content should all be moved to [WFR Guild Media@wiki].

[WFR Guild Audio@wiki] now has a new, first audio commentary on the first Local Chapter idea.

We will have to figure out which other pages are the most 'public' pages, or need to be readily accessible as a memorable URL (ones that will most likely get printed in our books for people to quickly type in to get to our pages).

(Updated: All WFR official business will be done by an exclusive set of Guild Mods, who will all be either Guards or Knights, and Oath-sworn, so we will phase out the old 'Wiki Fantasy Roleplay' forum, and use only the Knights and Guards forum. When a WFR Council is formed, they will all be Knights/Guards, and can do business there. If and when a special Council-forum is necessary, it can be created at that time, but for now we are small enough to afford only one forum, to keep things organized and easy to access.)

I will soon be making a public announcement about our short-term and long-term goals, 2008 anniversary plans, and my hopes to name you as a Guild Leader in my resignation. I want to have all the work done with the RPGA and Wizards.com by that time - and we have sped that process up by lighting a couple fires under people's asses this weekend - so I can hand over the Guild with no huge responsibilities or drama to deal with for you.

We will need Mods in place to review applicants from all walks of life, and a stable system for developing content, media, and guidelines (or "rules" in the 'real world', but which sound demanding and tyrannical) within the Guild.


Luckily, we are still in no big rush just yet. I will let you know when we are on a deadline, and what that deadline is.
