[irulan]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you see someone acting like an asshole, and you think "I should report them to the guards."

[nnnnn]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when taking a spring-cleaning in your house means changing your bio.

[Skydancer] .... catching up means going though 200 pages of art, galleries, references and resources that you maintain. :D And eating supper while you are working here.

[Aradon Templar] You know you've spent too much time on Elftown when you know every wiki on the site, and have them all bookmarked on your sidebar. Furthermore, your list of updated wikipages is longer than your normal sidebar. Even longer than that, is your relations list, which includes each and every active member of Elftown, and you all chat regularly. :)

[pixish] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you have more friends here than you do in real life :-) *blush*
(Not that there is any such thing as too much time spent here)

[icarus011] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you are more excited about getting a message on here then a phone call from a friend in the real world

[Ariandra] You know you spend too much time in Elftown when you SCHEDULE it into your daily routine, or when you meet someone here in Elftown and, within 4 months, hop in a car and drive 14 hours to meet them!!!

[Yuriona] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when your husband comes home from work and you have to fill him in on all the latest Elftown news and gossip.

[Paul Doyle] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when... Not only do you create a clone house (like [123scapegoat]), but you also turn it into Elfwood material! (Like "The Ballad of 123scapegoat", at  http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/libr/p/j/pjdoyle/the_ballad_of_123scapegoat.htm.html )
GUILTY AS CHARGED . . . (*big chuckle*)

[Ylaraniala Majere] ...when you say "AHHH! It's been TWO HOURS! My wikis... my poor, un-updated house.... gahhh! Must... get... on...." Also guilty as charged.... *6.6*

[Savien] You know you spend too much time in Elftown, when it is REALLY important to you to see your name in as many of the wiki pages as you can, and you host as many of them as you watch! *points @ own name* See!

[irulan]You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you're browsing the web and see something misspelled and look for the "Edit this Page" button to fix it. (Guilty of this [Dictated by Uncertainty])

[SilverBlue82]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you have to have a meeting with your boss about ‘what exactly is Elftown'

(I started it three weeks ago... and it´s addictive...)

<img:stuff/Deiscorides_line_dividers_0_40.jpg>

[Skydancer] When you Graduate with Honors from Elftown University with a Masters Degree in Fine Fairy Arts after 7 years of slavedriving Elven professors and Orcean track coaches and Fairy Housemoms, and and and.....
<img:stuff/Deiscorides_line_dividers_0_40.jpg>

[Dictated by Uncertainty] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when... You can give more than two reasons to add to this list. (I know I'm ashamed too.)

[Dictated by Uncertainty] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when... no one is talking and no one's on the wikis you start viewing random members because you're pretty sure someone will come and you don't want to leave just yet. (How do you think I came upon this place?)

[TheRogue]...When you have decided it's time for another computer, because sharing Elftown time with your roommate/gf/bf/wife/husband/etc. takes too much of your own ElfCrack time.

...When you work a mile and a half from home, and your better half and you trade ET messages all day instead of calling or using a IM program...

...When you refer to Elftown as 'ELFCRACK' and actually get annoyed when people come over and bother you while you are trying to shovel through your messages/forums/wikis.

...when a bad day is calculated according to whether ET is working or not...

...when you think that perfect gift is a mousepad or other merchandise with Elftown artwork on it...or a cafepress mug from one of your ET friends...

...you answer to your ET name more than you answer to your REAL name.

[Sagacious Turkey]... when your fingers are permanently curved because of too much time on the keyboard...

... when you get a job with computers just so you can get on during work...

... when you report stuff to random people on the streets when elftown is down...

...when you wake up in the middle of the night, and log in to ET BEFORE you go to the bathroom. Then you go back AFTER to see if you missed anything during that 2.5 minute poddy break.

...wake up..Elftown....cigarette...coffee..clothes..work... IN THAT ORDER.

...When you talk to your ET friends, IRL, you call them by their Elftown names.. (haha [Malnu] knows what I'm talking about ;) )

...when you meet that perfect somebody online in Elftown... then you drive 300 miles in a greyhound bus to meet them, and never go back home... ;)

[Archeress of Mirkwood] ...when you get married to the person you met on ELFTOWN... (Ain't that right [Vampyre Wolf]?)

[nokaredes] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you drag people in that you don't even know (since you bookmark it on every public computer you use), and realize that the person sitting two computers down from you at the school library is also on ET. You start a conversation with her because of that, and are now best friends.
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when people say you look busy when you're on.

[Janouk] You know you spend too much time one Elftown when you try to explain to your mentor what exactly is Elftown and how it works and that you spend almost all your free time in that special little town no one knows about...I finally ended up saying it was just too dificult to explain in just a few minutes...

[og_ghost]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
...you can't remember what the "No new messages" sign looks like. (At least, I'm assuming that's what it says...)
...you check the Elftown clock before you check your computer clock.
...you learn your friends by their e-mail addresses, just because they change their names so much.
...you introduce people to Elftown instead of asking for their phone number. (If only I could claim I'd never done this... she was hot, too...)
...you have a running list of your polls.
...you have polls that have more than 100 people participating.
...you make wiki-pages to have meetings and "professional" discussions with your co-workers, in liu of having to actually meet each other.
...you have any idea how the Elftown Forum works. (Took me a while...)
...you can remember a time when Elftown never had more than 20,000 messages within the last 24 hours.
...you have ever actually noticed what that number was.
...you can't remember what the last news update was because you've been to so many pages since you last read it.
...you talk about Elftown being down the way other people talk about major natural disasters. (Did you see when Elftown was down today? instead of Did you feel that earthquake today?)
...you set up each of your wiki's with very careful arranged "site navigation" systems.
...you set up your page the same way.
...you force your friends to join, holding them up at proverbial gunpoint as you watch them register to make sure there ain't no "funny stuff". (sorry, [bozo#3] and [Jesus the Jew]. You'll thank me later.)
...you have conversations with people who sit next to you in class via Elftown messaging.
...you then leave class and talk to each other about what happened on Elftown. (so sad... so true)
...you learned HTML just because of Elftown. (Not personally guilty, but I know people who are.)
...you can't remember how you spent your time BEFORE you found Elftown.

...you go back to edit the page because you thought your post wasnt aesthetically pleasing enough. (raises hand shamefully)
...you instantly see the tiniest change in these tremendously long wiki pages no matter how long it's been since you were there last.
...you actually use your page as an artists portfolio source.
...you log onto Elftown to show off your work instead of searching for the actual papers in the stack three feet away.

...you forgot to watch this wiki page, and actually went back and retraced your steps to find it again.

[Pinkdonkey]
- When you spend half an hour trying to think what proves that you spend too much time on Elftown ...
- When you want to crush and reduce to pulp all the Elftowners who think this is some kind of clone of Meetic ...
- When you get really sad because you've got no messages on Elftown, even if hundreds of friends in the real world are cueing up to get a chance of speaking with you.
- When you get annoyed if anybody disturbs you while loged on to Elftown, even if you are just reloading your home in hope of getting a few messages.
- When you get jealous of all the "ancients" and wish to have discovered Elftown at it's beginning ...
- When you read all of the above and get upset because you realise you have a few year to catch up before you can claim to spend too much time on Elftown ...

[Janouk]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when one week without Internet feels like dying (^__^)

[Seamus Schwathe]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you can recite from memory the times ET turns off so it can make backups.

You know you spend too much time on Elftown when someone says ET and the movie doesn't even come to mind.

You know you spend too much time on Elftown when there are members here who know you better than your outside friends.

You know you spend too much time on Elftown when, in the middle of class (or work), you find yourself going through a conversation you had with another member, message by message, and remember it perfectly.

You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you view version 1 of a wiki-page, and then go through every version (no matter how many) to see how it has changed.

[Paul Doyle] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when... Not only have you been a former Elftown Drama Queen who finally shut up, but also you've stuck around long enough to see new Drama Queens (whether male or female) who've totally blown your former Drama Factor to bits with their shrill incessant histrionics. :PPPPP

[Seamus Schwathe]
You know you spent too much time on Elftown when you type "http://elftown.lysator.liu.se" as soon as your browser opens and pull up the entrance page (and logged in) without realizing it, no matter what you were getting on the internet to do.

[Jitter]You do almost everythin of the things above. You send hsnail mail holiday cards to your ET friends and not to your real life ones. You delay stuff for school and work. You think about contests on the bus. You leave a party to log on on ET. When you log on on ET your new message count is over 10. You get engaged/married/pregnant/new stuff etc and instead of calling your rl friends, you simply change your mood or write your et diary. You see your partner after a week and all the news you have to fill him in are ET news. Ande finally when you know you're guilty of almost all the list above and have been active for just 4 months (I'm guilty)

[Seamus Schwathe]
It takes less than thirty seconds to open your browser, pull up the entrance page, and log on.

Out of boredom, you figured out how to change the words "you have logged out" to say whatever you want, and write new things there all the time.

[Zab] You spend too much time here, if you agree on all above, (except 3 of them), took time to read all this, noticed that many things are said twice or more, are buying expencive artmaterial (as a graphics tablet) to get better in computer art only for showing it here, you call your room (if you even notice it) wellorganized if yoy can take yourself from the computer to the bed/food without stop wiewing the screen... and so on.

[Zab] again; when you have more than two windows open to reach to check all wikis and forums, and when you actually go back here to write it down..;P

[Yoruno] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
* ...you scroll up this wiki page just to see at your first posting and think "Cool, I was one of the first ones to writte something in here..."
* ...you feel more excited to receive a message from [Hedda] than a phonecall from your best friends
* ...you actually talk about [Hedda] in such a way that your family thinks he's some kind of celebrity (or God...)
* ...you feel prouder about your badges than about your job, school notes or IQ
* ...you spend the entire evening talking about what happened in Elftown with someone else that actually spent the morning with you in Elftown
* ...you actually make a promise to yourself about donating to Elftown once a month :P
* ...your best friend lives in a country diferent than yours, and of course you meet him in Elftown
* ...you are able to repeat by heart the name of all the members of the council and at least 10 guards (I can... I have no life)
* ...you feel somehow important because your "member number" is lower than 25000 XD
* ...you celebrate your anniversary on Elftown in a bigger way than your own birthday
* ...you're able to have fun for hours just pressing the "random member" button and sending reports

[Kiddalee] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
... reporting fools to the guards has tired you out.
... you're creating new ways to serve the community every week (*avoids plugging*).
... you go "poll surfing" for a good time.
... it takes well over an hour to catch up on your messages and wikis before you can actually start doing the task you set out to do.
... frankly, you don't want to go to bed yet, even if you're so tired your eyes aren't focusing on your Elf messages.
... sitting in front of the computer all day has allowed you to expend so little energy that you can survive on under 1000 calories on such a day without feeling hungry or tired.
... you can be counted on to send people weekly Elfmail reminders to do things.
... you want to state your real life actions out loud surrounded by *asterisks*, and actually do so in your head.
... it has become a means by which you avoid homework and fail your classes (includes Heddate in general).
... you must avoid the internet for 1 full week to hopefully get into the habit of doing other things all day.
... you don't want to catch up on your Elfmessages after a trip, because it's just too much work.
... you want to italicize quotes and titles on papers in real life, after having learned that format from the forums/wiki.
... you have dreams including acquaintances from Elftown that you didn't even think were important enough to you to appear in your dreams.

[The Crimson King]
...in the real world you say "LOL" instead of actually laughing.

[Dark Side of the Moon]
...when you log off from Elftown and you still see that institution green colour.

[Azuri] You know you spend too much time on elftown when you have a billion tabs open just to investigate the many links on a persons home page or in a wiki because you dont wanna get side tracked and loose where you started >>

You know you spend too much time on Elftown when for fun you click on the intresting names in the last logins

You know you spend too much time on ET when you find out you have a clone house that predates the one your currently useing by only a few months and cant for the life of you figure out why you stopped useing it.

[Zab] again: When you dream that Elftown is dead and wake up crying....>_>

[spincrus]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
...you keep on refreshing your own home over, and over again. Wait, wasn't that called obsessive-compulsive? Wait, wasn't that called obsessive-compulsive? Wait, wasn't that called obsessive-compulsive? Argh can't stop! Argh can't stop!
...you keep creating new wikis that you know nobody will ever visit.
...you start to unintentionally include people from Elftown in your dreams (as it was the case with me a couple of nights ago).
...you refer to ET when talking to non-ET members and expect them to know of such a place, even though they've never heard of it.
...you get overexcited when you receive a message.
...you get overexcited when someone has replied to a forum thread of yours.

[Deleted Porn Star] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you forget what you were going to post because you spend so much time reading all of the other peoples posts..

or when you have been locked in a room for months with just a pocket pc and nothing els to so but elftown (i really have been locked in a small room for the pst few cupple months)

or when you decide to find a friend with the view random member button and actually find them (i got lucky)

[Elodicressida] (But from my brother. Honest.) Your parents ground you from the real world for a month and you're unphased. They ground you from ET for a day...an hour...ten minutes... and you cry.

[moonscale] You know you spend too much time on ET when your real friends hit you over the head anytime you mention ET and start dragging you away from the computer the moment they see you near it.
You know you've spent too much time on elftown when you have to send yourself a message to make sure you don't forget to eat. (of course I wouldnt do that *shifty eyes*)

[dayah] You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...You eat, think and dream about it all day and night long, and freek out wondering whats going on when the computer is shut off, even when you know, no one you know is going to be on a 5 in the morning.

[iippo] You know you spend too much time in Elftown when...
-You try to type google.com (or any other easy address) and actually type elftown.eu first
-You have a heart-attack when you make a typo in the address bar and end up in www.eltown.com ...
-you can type your ET-password faster than your real name.

[moonscale] you know you've been on Elftown to long when you realize the wall of your room are the same color as your Elftown house, and wonder why everyone elses room isn't.

[Archeress of Mirkwood]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
You're High School has it's own wiki and there are more than 3 members. United Township High School *Guilty*

[iippo]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
You meet with people you know only through Elftown, talk about Elftown during that meeting and end up having a semi-argument about how to pronounce other ET-members' names (like [ally] or [Yncke])

[pixish]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
You've ever not paid complete attention to what you're doing and have attempted to log in as 'elftown.eu' with your username as the password

[ally]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
you automatically add "wiki" after every @ you type. (When asked for e-mail you type my_email@wiki)

[Zab]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when you find silly excuses to stay, like ''I'm too tired to log out'', and actually fool yourself to believe in them. (Which makes you stay another hour or so..)

[Yoruno]
* ...you try to log in to some other web page with your Elftown's nick and password... and actually take three tries to realize why you cannot log in ^^;;

[Paul Doyle]
. . . not only do you use Elftown as a resource to vent your real-life frustrations/quandaries in friends-only diary entries, but you you also get valuable feedback and insight from some of the Elftown friends who do read the entries :)

[iippo]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
you get very confused when people use the abbreviation "ET" to mean something else (like that movie, or in my case the "Ellen Terry" building here in Coventry).

[Duke Devlin]
You Know You Spend Too Much Time On Elftown When... you try to put HTML tags in stories on word processor X_____X

[iippo]
You know you spend too much time on Elftown when...
While reading about Tim Berners-Lee's vision about a Semantic Web (where the computer would actually understand the content of documents) you suddenly realise how that will simplify and help with the search for proof of UAR-violating images that ET-members have uploaded.

[Archeress of Mirkwood]
You know you spend to much time online (Or on Elftown) when you are blogging between labor contractions!!! *Raises hand* Guilty!!
