[moonscale], as far as watercolours, don't worry about learning techniques. Art that looks like everyone else's is no fun. Develop your own technique by practicing and find out what works best for you and what you think looks good. That's what I did. I didn't study watercolour painting at all but it's my favourite medium. Good luck to you!

2006-12-27 [(eeob)]: I wouldn't say avoid techniques. They are very useful, and will only improve your art. But it's restricting to keep your face in a book learning someone else's methods every step of the way. I find it best to practice techniques for the sake of integration. This way if you work more intuitively your mind is open and focused on the idea and not restricted with the rights and wrongs of watercolors.

2006-12-27 [Lady of Lore]: Please note that there are now two pages og galleries up and put into the new layout. You are wlecome to add to them or change around your pictures. Please give me some feedback in it. Is it easier to look at and find galleries you want to see? Also it seems that the life here has petered off a bit. I think things will pick up again after the holidays and then I will begin adding some more contests as well as spiffing up things to make this place run more smoothly.

2007-08-26 [moonscale]: I don't have an Elfwood account, I do have a adeviant art account. I think the most efficient solution would be to put together a system where the location of the gallery wouldn't be as much of an issue and the location of the comments could be arranged to suite each person.

I'd put the link to the work and put my own comments on the page and anyone who wanted to comment on the work could comment on it on Elfwood. I thought that may be a simpler solution. 2007-08-28 [moonscale]: I just tried using tube watercolors for the first time yesterday! It was loads of fun. The ones I have now are so much nicer than the old ones I had. I can't wait until school starts, then I'll finally have time to paint.
