2008-04-07 [Ms. Steel]: I just thought markers because I've worked with them in a similar capacity. :-) The reflections and the layers tipped me off...possibly pencils over it all.

2008-04-07 [Lady Evangeline]: lol! well, it IS mixed media. prismacolor markers (which bleed like crazy cause it wasn't marker paper) and colored pencils and chalk pastels to add the highlights and some of the textures. :)

2008-04-07 [Ms. Steel]: Marker paper is great to have, indeed...I've had some luck with a good quality bristol board, too. Anything but marker paper saps those expensive markers dry right quick, though!

2008-04-08 [Lady Evangeline]: yup. I've found that prismacolor markers work pretty well on almost anything, but if you're gonna use chartpack (which blend nicely but bleed like crazy) then you're gonna need special paper.

Normally I would ask an artist permission beforehand, but this costs a lot of time when they don't respond.
I've seen on Artsie's wikis that she'd post an image, notify the artist and only remove it when the person objects. I think this method is faster to post images on the wiki, but might lead to having to remove a lot of images in hindsight (and thus create half empty galleries).
I want to find some quicker way to post images here though, does anyone have some tips? :)

I have two reasons for that:
1. the original piece was already featured, so it wouldn't bring something new if I put it up again
2. at times I find myself split having to choose one piece when there are several that I like and this way I can show more than one..
And a third reason now that I think of it:
a lot of artists rather have new art than old art featured and they made quite a bit of art during those 2 years :p

This feature was a bit more difficult because 45 of them were featured 2 years ago and not all artists are active anymore. I tried to pick artists who're still here, but also considered that featuring a piece might cause for an artist to return.
