You have avoided answering my questions who supposedly went on her account, how and why. Those accounts do not have the same passwords, but somehow the one who supposedly uploaded all the illegal art knew all of them.
Coincidentally the passwords belonging to those houses have also been tried on your house, most likely because you are all them and you couldn't remember which password you had for which house.

No that is not why your art gets taken. We can't see where you saved it, what we can however see is that you did not create it. Don't upload art here that you did not create yourself.

I not avoiding the question of who got on it because i don't know my sis doesn't live here and i have no idea what happened. the reson for all the password is that i didn't remeber it and was trying the ones she left but you don't have to believe that either if the accounts that are banned now stay banned im fine with im was just trying for her sake and i did.

On to the art i created most of it myself accept for a few and those were the ones that got taken which i can understand

To adhere to the specifics of the rule, this is conceptually really a single quote anyway. Just because you happened to insert quotation marks in between consecutive lines of text from a same source doesn't establish the blocks of text as individual quotes, and therefore it becomes a single quote that is too long.

The terminology of the rule is appropriate enough.

But again, if it's trying to abuse rules just to get in an entire song (by making the print smaller or trying to fit as many words into one line as possible), it may be removed.

When in doubt, feel free to post the text to a guard and ask them (and if they're unsure, they will ask the other guards their opinions).

I'm sure mostly it'll be fine. But if it's an abuse and trying to get around the rules, it won't be ;)

No, Elftown can't use art we did not get permission to use.
Mind though that when members submit to contests, Elftown Graphics or the likes, they agree to it that Elftown can use it. At least to the extent of putting it on official pages and Mainstreet.
Generally if we plan on using something for Elftown, we warn members about it or ask permission.
But if we didn't, it would be good to point it out :)

Eh, no. Deletions are based on evidence that the member did not create the image. While mistakes have happened, they are few and far between, and do not support that notion.

Outside of that the reporter would have to provide some sort of proof or the issue will be ignored until some actual evidence that the text was copied can be produced, at which point the case would be reviewed.

Passages that look like a chain story simply reworded will likely get a second glance though, since pretending some writing is yours because you changed the words a bit doesn't meet the acceptable criteria.

There are many reasons why an application may get rejected. And there's always a message to the email address that's applying as to why it was rejected (if it was, indeed, rejected).

2008-01-16 [NOOOPE]: Hello, guards. I have a question. Ok, I made ET Quotes which was a wiki that collected funny things written in random houses. It was to giggle at spelling/grammar mistakes and contradictions. People jumped on it, many have added quotes, and all quotes are anonymous, because anyone can accidentally type something hilarious, so we don't want to be suggesting the person who wrote it is stupid.

Now, I was hesitant to make this page, because it could offend if someone took it the wrong way but people make things like "Dungeon of idiots" in which they name people and quote people and these idiot dungeons are a-ok as far as I've seen.

This is not half as insulting. So I said, why not, let's have an innocent laugh.

However, as we giggled and snorted in the comments, [XxTsomexX] got angry at us. She made ET Quotes: Harassment or Truth? and is going to contact you and even try to get me kicked out of the council, or well, I'm an intern, but yeah.

They didn't come to me. They didn't say what they felt was wrong. All they said was, shuddup guys and grow up. Now they are attacking me as if I went house to house, insulting people in their faces.

It's quotes, not people. I would just as soon put up a spelling error of a friend, or myself even.

So when they come to you, well, here's the dealio.

OH! But I mentioned a question above. If you do think et quotes is to iffy, tell me now and I will gladly take it down. I will cooperate to the fullest.

2008-01-16 [Calico Tiger]: There are no names on the page (or even indicators as to where to find the originators of those quotes), so I don't see a problem, personally. Now, if you were using it in such a way like.... messaging a person with a quote in their house that you found particularly mock-worthy, linked them that page and told them they were now on it, then yeah... that's harassment towards that member (since it's not just quotes, but the opinion of the quote). But that's not what it sounds like is going on.

We'll see, of course, what the other guards think as well, though :D As this is just my opinion

2008-01-16 [Sunrose]: I think ET Quotes in its current presentation does not violate the rules, nor should be taken offensive.

But, I understand why some might have been offended when they walked in earlier. The introduction that is on the wiki now is much more explanatory and milder, than the short introduction that was there before.
The 'Worst OC section' that was on the wiki before, contained at least one character sheet that could be traced back to the creator (which was [XxTsomexX]'s, version 35-37 but also versions that still state the characters name). And as you removed them, you yourself admitted that some might be deeply offended because they're very close to their characters.

It's not always the best action to approach the person involved directly, because sometimes this can make the situation escalate. Sometimes the supposed offender turns aggressive or the likes, and it may not have been clear for Tsome whether or not you would too.
At the time that Tsome saw the wiki, it said nothing about being able to have your quotes removed.
On the other hand creating an anti-wiki makes the situation escalate just the same, as can be seen.
A possible solution for Tsome would have been to privately ask a Guard for advice, and we could have mediated between the two parties.

I hope that the current set-up satisfies both parties, as to the protection of those who wrote the quotes and what the intention of the wiki really is. As well as [NOOOPE] already apologising for possibly having offended anyone :)

The dollz-like image was made for me by a friend, I do not know how she made it, but it was given as a gift.

2008-02-03 [Mortified Penguin]: You can't really rely on different servers... Elftown is the way to go. Seeing as how he says that it was for a wiki, I would think everything would be easier if he had priv 99. If he had it in the first place, then he wouldn't have had to upload it in his house where it was not allowed. Instead, he could have simply uploaded it straight to the wiki... that would have saved both him and the guards some time. Besides... if he were to abuse the priv, you are able to see what he uploads and can immediatly remove the priv.

2008-02-03 [Sunrose]: The reliability of other servers is not our problem, when it concerns images we do not want on Elftown's server -at all.
The possibility to display such images on a wiki is simply a compromise for situations like this.

Taking care of wiki-privs abuse is a little more complicated, which is why they require a little more trust.
You can never be sure if they will be used correctly, but if you already have doubts there's no reason to just hand them out.
