2009-04-08 [Chimes]: Isn't that a bit pointless though? You have the graphic there as the headline, why have the 'title' twice? It makes either the headline or the graphic redundant... depending on which you prefer.

2009-04-08 [Hedda]: The thing is that graphics look nice and the heading is easier to read. It's not optimal, but the heading is very nice to have if you're googling for the "contest deadlines" or if you want to know what this page is about.

Hedda, would having <img:stuff/Mainstreet_Contest_Deadlines.jpg>(Mainstreet Contest Deadlines) have the same effect when googling as having the heading there? If so, why don't we use that? Then it can still look pretty. :P *is shallow* If not, it was worth a try...

2009-04-09 [Hedda]: No, it would not be the same. Graphics headings are bad. It should be text that define what's on the page and images helping out, not the other way around.

The thing to do is to replace the graphics with a general "Official page" graphics (maybe in variants) and dump the "headline graphics", because they are just a crappy idea. Graphics should be pretty, not explain what keywords the page is about.

This is something that takes pretty long time to do though, but in the meantime I want clear headings so that there is no doubt what a page is about.
