*donors wishing not to have the 'Elftown donor'-image on their house and who will not appear in the search
2008-11-18 [Hedda]: The earlier you donate, the longer time you possess the benefits of being a donor.
And you actually don't get more wealth just because the dollar is worth more, unless you have the wealth in dollars or income that will stay the same even if the dollar goes up. If you had the money invested in a house, you would have had to sell more of it to get 10 euro now. Same goes if you had stocks, oil, zinc or a pre-paid rent for a capsize ship.
2008-11-18 [Mordigen]: It's was 12.50 when I donated back in 06' too, so it's been at that rate for a lil while now. Hopefully it wont start going down again. (as in dollar value going down)
2008-11-18 [Hedda]: No, it has definitely not been like that for a while:
http://finance
So in between the dollar has cost less than 0.64 euro (equal to that 1 euro = $1.56 USD)
2008-11-18 [Mordigen]: ......
ok.
I have no clue what that means XD Exchange rate explanations and charts are completely lost on me, as it is all greek to me -- I don't even try to understand it anymore, lmao, I just look up what it is when I need to know the current exchange rate ;P
All I know is when I donated, my credit card was billed $12.56 USD. and that's all i know *Snorts*
2008-11-18 [Jeccabee]: I think that's what it was when I dontated too...but honestly I dont remember. LOL And I'm with you Mordigen, I just look up the exchange when I need to know.
2008-11-18 [Doormat]: When I donated it was $39 ¯\(º_o)/¯
Guess the exchange rate is crashing down.
2008-11-19 [Skydancer]: nods, the rate has been moving around quite a bit. On Second Life, there is a real value currency that can be recovered in any number of real world money and its been moving up and down between the various countries. A few months ago, I could get $60 for 30 british pounds, now its $47 and some change.
2008-11-19 [Hedda]: [Doormat]: But you paid a double donor donation... (And maybe in Canadian dollars?)
[Skydancer]: Yes, the Sterling has dropped into the Atlantic ocean almost like the Icelandic krona. I think it's because Atlantis is under attack every week (See the sci-fi channel), that people don't trust the Atlantians' money anymore...
2008-11-19 [Alexi Ice]: ....Uh....ok ^^ Thanks for answering my question! 12.50 is perfect...(has no idea what else is going on) *My brain hurts...*
2008-11-19 [Doormat]: Heh, the amazing Canadian dollar when the CAN:US exchange rate was 0.70. Oh well. No regrets.
2009-04-14 [Flisky]: *pulls a "I feel stupid" face* How do we donate in someone else's name?
2009-07-16 [Aeolynn]: so if you want to donate the basic amount it is 12.50$ in american money?
2009-07-22 [Hedda]: It's about that. It will charge you the exact amount automatically.
2011-03-21 [Alexi Ice]: [kians mummy] wants to know what the amount would be for English Pounds?
2011-03-24 [Pillowthief]: I believe you mean euros.
2011-03-24 [windowframe]: No, I'm pretty sure she means Pound Sterling. It makes sense that she wants to know what 10 euros would be in Sterling if she's English.
2011-03-25 [Pillowthief]: By this time (AD), everyone is english. Sterling is a vague reference. Might as well count it as Ruples.
2011-03-25 [windowframe]: Riiiiight. ¬_¬
2011-03-26 [Pillowthief]: I think Chuck Norris would back me up on this one.
2015-02-10 [Mortified Penguin]: I donated last month. My second most expensive badge yet...
